Bought this frame (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33031386172.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dMbr2M8) from Aliexpress over a month ago, not really sure who actually makes the frame (still waiting for it to arrive) and am in the process of sourcing parts for it. Currently looking at forks and have found a great deal on some rockshox recon gold 130mm for 250euro, i was going to put 120mm forks on as i felt that was probably the safest amount with an unknown frame like this but whats yer opinion?

Anyone bought this frame before?

Thanks, was just a bit over 220euro so i said what the hell that and a mix of covid-19 boredom. Hopefully it doesnt turn out to be a pile of junk but i am optimistic. Saying that delivery is taking forever, ive so much stuff from alixpress coming for over 1.5-2 months at this stage, real pain in the ass but what can you do Gonna build a carbon wheelset up as well, any recommendations for a good lightweight 28 hole rim that will take a heavy rider?

I'm a fan of lightbicycle.com, and order all my wheels/rims there for now.
wheelsfar.com seems to be a good provider too.

And if you look around, you'll find other providers, people are happy with too.

I already saw this frame somewhere, it should be comfortable with the thin seatstays.
I won't go more than 120mm fork not to slacken the seat tube too much, for 250 euro i get a brand new reba few years ago...

Why not going 32 holes rims if you're an heavy rider? no weight penalty and probably a bit safer.
They are many wheels builders, with novatec hub, bladed cn spoke, you can end up with 600-700 euros set if you are low on money.

I have a set of 28h novatech hubs so I will use those, I am generally fairly easy on wheels so 28h should hopefully be strong enough. Gonna build them up myself

Most providers will sell you a rim for about $150 for the basic models.
And about $250 for fancier, lighter versions.

So $300 + shipping(generally low since rims only is light).
You may save $10-20 per rim, with some unknown seller but I would stick to reputable providers.

I've built a gravel wheelset on Novatech 411/412 hubs, and they are still fine, after 2+ years.

However lightbicycle advised me recently, to not use them for a friend of 80kg.
Saying they were less durable than say DT-350/240 hubs.
For another 60kg friend and myself at 67kg, they were ok.
But I felt they didn't like Novatexh that much.

i ordered this fork for the build suntour epixcon(https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32832005979.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.14244c4d6s9HK8), not a 100% on weight but hopefully its light enough in 29er guise, im also praying its a genuine fork

Do Light Carbon do all the rims for Light Bicycle? The rims look very similar if not identical, and there's the name too, obviously.

Wheelsfar seem a little expensive and short on information - for example they don't list internal rim width. Yet talk about it (re: tyre sizes) as if they do.

I don't think light carbon is linked to light bicycle, but the name 

If you scroll down a Far page about a wheel set, you should see the inner width and quite precise dimension details.
And in doubt, contact them.
They will happily answer you.

So I've just got s refund from Alixpress on this frame, still hasn't arrived so must be lost in shipping, ordered start of may.

Anyone have any recommendations for a 29er xc lightweight frame up to around 300usd? Preferably with a boost rear.

It looks very neat.
Do you know if they sell a matching rigid fork?
Does it come with some hardware to put a front derailleur that you removed?
Did you put the chainstay protector, or was it delivered as is?

I'm wondering if this couldn't be a frame to build a gravel on a budget.
