Build mine up yesterday, i've ordered some stickers and still have to go to 160mm instead of 150 with the fork.

Dit notice the flex in the rear triangle right away, unfortunately.
Will get better photo's once cleaned and branded!

There was some talk a few pages back regarding what a mud guard for the shock. I had designed and printed myself one a few weeks back that seems to work well. It's held on via a zip and i've attached it for anyone that has a 3d printer.

Here is another solution to keep the rear shock somewhat clean. Holds with only two zip ties on the seat stays - not perfectly stable, but has held so far in pretty rough terrain and rough riding.

@geekbox32, I tried to print that fender, but it comes out too thin and crumbles apart. Maybe not the correct plastic. I'll try to add some thickness.

I thought I was going to get I. My first ride today. But when I went to set the sag. I've got a horrendous high pitched squeak or creaking.  It wasn't there when I sat on it before.

Should I be greasing the pivot points or loc-tighting them?

That looks pretty slick, does it cover enough to keep any dirt off of you?  I have a large mudhugger which does a great job but it looks soooo stupid.

No, doesn't keep the dirt off your ass, but just the shock and the lower part of the seat tube.

I went chasing my squeak and I think I found it. It seems it was the rear shock mount being too loose. I tightened it up and the squeak stopped. Unfortunately I put the wheel back on to test and see if it made a difference without putting loctite On the bolt. So I assume it will eventually get loose and I'll have to do it again.

I didn't get to take the bike to a trail today, but I rode it around the neighborhood. It's super plush I'm excited about the McLeod I have on the rear. As a budget mountain biker it's so nice to have something besides a rockshox deluxe select for a change.

I was gonna fix a cut tube over the rear shock, but that little fender looks like a good option. I may look into that route.

I can confirm that the Cane Creek spacer + 6mm with the Fox 36 Grip2 (latest version) and the Cane Creek 110 Hellbender headset lower bearing, on a size L frame it's ok: 2mm of clearance, perfect for those who want to minimize the change from the original angles

Jal,  would you mind provide us with the URL link for the components?  I brought the wrong one. Didn't work.  Just trying to save additional hassle. Thanks.

Yes, of course, BSAM.

+++ First the +6mm spacer (Reference number: BAA1078K):

*Do not trust the image placed on this website, it does not correspond to the real piece, probably because on the official page
they do not have a photo of the spacer, so they have put a photo of a regular crown race.

Hey, Magura caliper at the back and apparently Shimano lever - is that a "Shigura" setup? Why a Shimano caliper in front then?

What are everyone’s impressions of tire clearance? Is 2.4 on ~30mm internal rims about the real limit or might I be able to fit a 2.6? (Presumably fitting protective stickers to ward off any occasional rub.) I demoed a Hightower this summer and noticed tire clearance was crazy tight, just wondering if the 831 is similar that way. I live in a very rooty rocky area and would like maximum tire volume.

Also, any thoughts on possible over-shocking or running offset bushings to raise the bike for an MX build? I like the idea of trying out a mullet setup but would want to bring the geometry as close to normal as possible. I don’t love super low BB heights on my usual trails, too many violent pedal strikes even with good technique.
