Hi Hazzer, did you paint it with Velobuild? And do you by any chance still have the color scheme (pantone or whatever) for it? I am also trying to come up with a similar color scheme, albeit adding some white here and there, and it would be super helpful to get an idea about what these colors look on the bike with respect to the catalogue  ;D

Pretty sure Troy wrote that the colour scheme is called ass crack bandit.

Sure, but is it a red ass crack, a pink ass crack, or is it another shade than these two?

Hey all.

First time ever posting on a forum, so apologies if I am doing it wrong.

Thanks to everyone for their input. It has convinced me to buy a 268.

I have placed the order on Sunday, received a notification that it was shipped on Tuesday, but the tracking shows “not found”. Shipping to The Netherlands.

Anyone had a similar experience?

welcome to the opaque world of international shipping. Especially if you chose DDP, the tracker may not update until 1 or 2 days before you receive it. Nothing you can do about it. But you can sleep in peace, velobuild isn't going to run with your money, if they gave you a tracking number, your frame is in the box, and the box is on its way to you.
Patience & happy riding!

You could try a "track all" website like this one and see if that comes up with anything. If not, it's like Serge said, just wait, the tracking will be available eventually. Sometimes it takes a few days.

Perfect. Thanks for the replies!
In general, experience with DPD is not great.

Looking forward to the build.

Saw a few people had issues with the cockpit coming loose. Would you suggest buying another expander plug from the get go?

I have been struggling with clunking noise from the bar while sprintong/climbing hard or just rocking left and right. Did everyone I could think of. Played with torque on all related hardware, increased clearance with headset cover/ fork top. Issue seems to be coming from the bar itself. I inspected it many times, without any cracks findings.

I am writing here before going to Chris for warranty request since I have the bike for more than a year, but has been struggling with that issue since day 1.

Anyone faced that issue?

Don't have it on mine and it's hard to comprehend how it sounds from here! Could it be internal cabling hitting the frame or handlebars? Did you sleeve internal cable outers with foam in the downtube?

It really can't be hydro lines hitting the internal of the bars since I am able to make it clunk when not Roling and just forcing the handlebars left & right (kind of like replicating force when sprinting). I will reach out to velobuild and see if they are willing to cover that under warranty. Like I said, I got the bike more than a year ago, but I kept troubleshooting the issue. I was hoping it was just a bad installation/ torque/ clearance thing, but at this point, I am confident it's the bar itself.

Loose headset perhaps? You sure top and bottom bearings are seated correctly??

I know it's a PITA, but I'd try to reseat everything just in case. Goodluck!

Fork plug is not moving, that I am sure. Also checked all parts around the headset. I am really thinking it's a defective handlebar and maybe the area around the fork tube is too "soft. I don't know. Something to note is that I bought the frame early when released by velobuild.

Anyway, I sent an email to Chris. I will see what he says.

Easy! Nardo gray in the back, pink icebreak in the front ;)

Community (the TV show) reference. There's an episode about the ass crack bandit. Probably my favourite TV show. Several episodes were directed by the Russo brothers, before they went on directing Marvel movies back when Marvel movies were good.

The frame comes with 30mm in black metal spacers plus the carbon cone/spacer which sits over the head tube.

So question. Would you chance it fitting more spacers than that under the stem? I read on Google that 30mm is the max normally.
