And here is a 26er.. You do remember when 26 inch wheels were available, right? LOL..

This was at least 5 years ago.. The pic was taken just after it was built, so a few things to tidy up..

Here is a pic of mine finally finished. Road it for the first time today and am fairly impressed. It weighs in at 23lbs 6 oz all in.

Looks like an awesome ride Curlyfry!  Yours also came in about 1/2 lb lighter than mine.  Maybe I need to go check out the weight weenies thread on MTBR .

Give it some time and get it dialed in... You'll start to appreciate the little nuances and learn exactly what you do and don't like about the bike.

Thanks. Yeah I am still dialing in the geo. Overall I am happy with it, a little flexy in the rear end but that might take some getting used to. The fully active suspension is great and the Fox CTD shock did a nice job of limiting bob.

How long are you riding this bike ?

For 1 and half of year already.

And what do you mean with "way too hard for XC racing!". Aren't the QRings nice to ride ?

They aren't bad, good feeling of smoothness to pedal in comparison to round chainrings, but ratio is too high for me - probably better suit oldschool 26" bike. Sometimes chainsucks appears, that's sucks!

Here is my nearly completed IP-057 Lefty build! Please let me know of any observations since this is my first build.

Nice ! I like the combination black frame and white fork.

Can you add more information to your post, like weight, build list and maybe some riding experience ?

I am surprised about the lefty....
It is only a 120grams less than my Reba(1658 inc. axle and starnut)

If you weigh just the fork leftys seems light, but

Cannondale 2012 Lefty OPI Alloy XLR 29er 90mm 1,523g
Hose Guides 15g
Cannondale Lefty-4-All 11/8" Steerer KH075 212g
= 1750g

However, worth it for looking so cool 

Also, are you pretty happy with the Formula R1's?
What year are yours?  Older ones seem to be tight clearance.
XT's have been popular here so interested in how your R1 install went?

They're 2012 R1s, they definitely work but unfortunately on a week long bike packing trip they decided not to stop working and the front brake was dragging for most of the trip, but given I'd already snapped the rear mech off so was riding a field modified single speed that was the least of my concerns. I do sometimes get a bit of vibration through the front brake, not sure if it's a warped or too lightweight a rotor or just a terribly built front wheel (it was my first attempt).




I'm no sciencetician but I'm pretty sure this isn't right



This picture was at about 9pm just after I checked my tool bag and discovered I'd left the spare mech hanger at home. Pushed it to the top of a 600m climb and freewheeled as far as I could in the aerobars then my mates pushed me to a campsite.

Agreed. They still look awesome and I'd prefer one bc the design simply "seems" superior in my mind, but I did actually think there was more of a weight savings.

Sussed, thanks for posting up those IP-036 pcs!  Not enough FS bikes around here .  I noticed your seat angle is tilted back, looks odd to me, I run my seat level to a few degrees forward so it's easy to quickly get in and out of the saddle.  I'd be really uncomfortable if I had my saddle at the angle yours is. 

How is the bike riding?  Have you run into any problems or is there anything you are not happy with?
