There has been some bikes built. Me, my wife and my son has been  upgraded quite a few times. ;D During the pandemic it was easy to sell a used bike so I could build a bike, ride it for a couple of months and sell it for component costs. Now things have changed, its very hard to sell a home built bike so I have  to many bikes and therefore no space for more builds  >:(

But I am looking forward to the new LCFS948 frame, moste likely  I can not resist to build one.

What frame is this bright orange one?  That looks slot like the new lcfs948!!

Thanks :-)

Yes it is always tempting to built another bike. What I really would like and that would suit med is a light 140 mm rear travel 150 mm front travel bike that can take a long dropperpost.  But thats not easy to find. I have a Cannondale Habi 1 thats kind of like that but with a little "old school" geometry.

I also have a Commencal Meta TR29 V4 with 140 mm rear travel but its morae like a fast endurobike, I would like something more playful.

The LCFS958 was a lot of what i´m looking for in a bike so I hope they will come with something updated, similar from Light carbon.

I live in the southwest of Sweden but I come fron the North of Sweden and we have nice MTB riding at both places.

How does the 958 ride compared to the 917?  I realize the 958 has about 10mm more rear travel and 10-30mm more on the front depending on the fork.

I suspect it would be similar to the 917.  I should probably bump up to the 947 but I conveniently have an extra shock that would fit the 958.  I don't hit a ton of jumps/drops so probably don't have an excuse for an N+1 anyway.

Honestly the brakes have been great, I did swap the pads for the Hope ones, the ones that came with the brakes were semi metallic and super noisy. So I chose the Hope green race pads.

The cassette has been fine, definitely super lightweight for the price. It shifts the same as my old sram cassette did, so happy with it.

light carbon LCFS919 "budget" build

LCFS919 medium frame matte black
SLX brakeset and rotors
29er light carbon wheelset
29x2.35 barzo TLR front, 29x2.25 mezcal TLR rear tubeless
Spank 35mm stem
Wren 740mm carbon handlebars
Chinese carbon saddle
Chinese EXA dropper post
SROAD 11-42t cassette
YBN chain 11sp
Horizon Pedals
Chinese 165mm cranks
120mm Sid Ultimate race day Fork
Mara Manitou Inline Shock 120mm
SRAM NX derailleur
Chinese Carbon bottle cage
ODI Grips

All about ~11kg.  I am happy with the result, probably could go lighter but considering what I spent its a good compromise.

Some great bikes StefanB. I have not built as many bikes as you, but I'm always thinking about the next one! I find researching and building these Chinese frames much more interesting than just buying a mainstream brand.

It looks like you have some beautiful trails and scenery too! Where do you live?

what bike is this?  where can you find more information?  do you have a website please?  Thank you.

Hi!

I’m new to this platform, but I already really enjoy browsing through all the information that has been shared here in the past. It’s great to read what everyone has contributed!

Recently, I built up a carbon XC mountain bike with a frame I ordered from AliExpress. I mainly use it for XCO and marathon races, specifically on the types of courses that are a bit easier and don’t necessarily require a full-suspension setup.

I’d love to hear what you all think of my choice. I’m also curious if any of you recognize the geometry or shape of this frame and might know if this mold is also used by other European brands.

Thank you very much in advance for any help and feedback!

Nice build, and the frame looks like an Orbea Alma.

Lovely bike! I am a fan of lightweight hardtails personally and this is sexy :-D

The mould looks similar to Trek Procaliber or Scott Scale 930 but to be fair, new bikes nowadays lack personality imo.
