Seaboard GR02- anyone else get a bad fork?

I got this frameset and the thru axle won't go through the fork. It will screw in from the outside but not through the inside to mount the wheel. I sent a video to the vendor for a replacement but I'm kind of bummed- anyone go through anything similar? Rear thru axle went in fine so I feel like it's a manufacturing defect. Already over budget on this build and I def don't want to buy a new fork....

Is there a hex key bolt holding the insert into the frame?  If so you might need to loosen that off, thread the thru axle in then re-tighten.

I managed to mess one up badly like this so don't try and force anything whatever you do.

No, it's just hard mounted in the fork. I think the fork is just bad.

My first frame purchase was a Seaboard GR02, and the fork was not quite at the same high level of quality as the frame itself. I suspect they don't make the carbon forks themselves, they likely buy from another manufacturer, and then just paint them.

I didn't have your issue with the thru axle, but I experienced the following:

• The space between the dropouts is ~98mm, not 100mm. This results in slightly tricky wheel installation, as I have to slightly bend the fork legs out to fit the wheel.
• I installed mudguards (fenders) at one point, and when I wanted to remove them, one of the nut inserts in the fork came out with the bolt.
• The brake caliper mounts on the fork are not flat, so aligning brakes to avoid rub is a frustrating and time-consuming experience. You think it's aligned, then you tighten up the bolts just a little, and suddenly it's rubbing again.

In short: excellent frame, mediocre fork.

Well the vendor said "you can find a bike shop to fix the problem for you". Looks like I'm on my own. I'm guessing the fork is where they keep the price down.

I think this may be the case. In several pics (even user reviews) you see different fork types. Some with mounting points, and some without. Definite lack of consistency.

Can also confirm my fork was quite rough, I had to sand paper a ridge on the bottom bearing seat, for it to sit flat.
Also a lot of carbon dust were in the threads for the inserts, I had to clean the threads and add grease before I could screw the axle in.
The 98mm spacing is also present on mine, so seems to be a common issue.
My brake mounts were fine though.
