Hi everybody,

so far I have been a silent reader, thanks to everybody sharing their experience with the frame. Inspired by your reports an a test ride on a "real" SL8 I ordered the frame on March 24 which was shipped on April 8/9 and arrived today (April 15) in Germany. So far everything looks good, the frame was packed very well and the box was not damaged. I will post some photos later.

Sorry can't help you. I didn't even notice any difference with the bushings on the frame since mine was painted. Though they should have sent you the extra washers (I've yet to receive mine), since 1 washer is not enough to lock the wheel down. As mentioned before, I found success with a 168mm * 19mm L 1lpm  rear thru axle for that tight TA fit. Also like anything from AliExpress, don't expect perfect quality. Everything requires a little extra effort to get things perfect. On the plus side, at least the R088 looks cleaner than what Winspace has been churning out at more than double the price (voids in the bottom bracket)!  ;)
Hi,
I imagine the bushings are not painted, so if they are different colors, I think you should notice it right away.

As for the rear thru axle, they told me that they use the same model on multiple frames, and they confirmed that the problem is the thread being too short (the 3 washers are used to compensate for this aspect)....they told me that the ideal would be a thru axle length 165mm * 17mm thread.

Regarding the finishes of the stops/ends of the thru axles, from what I've read around, they seem to be normal for a raw frame....as I already said, being inexperienced in the matter, I would have expected the same finishes as a painted frame, with the only difference of lack of paint, but evidently that is not the case (now I know).

As for the internal appearance of the frame tubes, nothing to say, they seem well made, apart from the internal of the drainage holes and mechanical FD that need to be sanded.

Now I just have to wait for the painter to be available (for the color I decided on the dove gray marbled effect of the Tarmac SL8 of which I have already posted photos....still undecided on the writings, I could apply stickers instead of painting).

In the meantime I have defined the setup:

- Sram Force Etap AXS 12V with PM Quarq (found used by a guy I know)
- Tagoola DAO Optimax Light 50mm wheels (23C and 30.5 external width)
- Elita One SL8 handlebar
- Wahoo/Speedplay pedals
- saddle: something I already have at home.

I've already installed all four cables into the frame, and the front derailleur is deliberately routed around the lower bottom bracket area. It sits neatly in there, but it's not really fixed in place. I hope that once it's finished, it won't affect the front derailleur settings while riding. This is the current status.
The assembly seems very interesting....what wheels are they? Saddle?

I had also ordered the Toseek handlebar that you intend to mount for my Cervélo R3 (rim), but I returned it because it was too wide on the top.

As for the stem, on the R3 I mount this one from Decathlon: little expense and great aesthetic result, even if it weighs a little more than the UNO stem (150gr for 110mm):

I'd be curious to see the outside and inside thru-axle stops...if it's not too much trouble, could you post some photos?

Thanks

Hi all, wondering if anyone can tell me the correct front thru axle specification or one someone's bought with a handle? My frame arrived and looking to replace both thru axles with handle design versions. The front thru axle on mine does not come with spec written on it. Thanks a lot.

Long time lurker first time poster!

Any of the US folks that ordered the frame stuck in customs or being affected by the trade wars happening right now? I ordered the frame on March 17th, shipped Apr 7th and from the looks of the tracking it states "due to high demand, shipments are taking longer than usual...". I'm wondering due to all the tariffs, the frame is being held in China?

I asked SP Cycle and they said it's a 'special axle'

For those who already received the frame, how long did it take to arrive after shipping?
My tracking currently says "Awaiting a connecting flight."
Does that mean it's almost here?

Cargo planes sometime land in two or three destinations where the package is unloaded and loaded onto another plane.
Sometime it may site there for a couple of day until it is reloaded. most people are quoted up to 3 weeks for delivery
