I made a reference in Carbon_Dude's 036 build thread to a rear derailleur that you shift gears with your brain. Pretty crazy stuff and just a glimpse into the technology that the MTB world is going to see trickling down over the next decade.

Not exactly market ready, but not far off either. I imagine it won't be much longer before we're plugging out chiners into our phones USB connection. Shimano ans Sram are already working on electronic groups - I could easily imagine an app that a racer could program to lock out suspension for a certain section of the course, or the fully opens the suspension when going down hill, or drops the seat post when going down hill, collects information about tyre pressure and performance.. and on and on.
