stupid question regarding chainline:

rival dub cl: 45mm
rival dub wide cl: 47,5mm

I use a rival dub crankset with a alugear chainring at the moment. I think it has an offset off 3mm (or maybe 6mm?).

If I use a non-wide crankset with a 0mm offset chainring, does it have more or less the same chainline as a dub wide crankset with an offset chainring?

It should, since the dub wide is 2.5mm wider per side

Can you fit 28.6mm stems/cockpits or only 31.8mm?
And any other infos about their cockpit? Reach, Flare, etc.

Why 31.8? I'm quite sure the steerer is standard 28.6

Europe buyers: did you have to pay import duties? Or do they ship via dpd/tax free?

disappointing news: Velobuild just postponed the shipment to end of June 

Not happy about it, cause the timeline they told me was one of the reasons for ordering the frame set.

They gave me a couple of weeks ago the 20th of june for when they were shipping the frames. Is that what they told you?

They told me that the frame is ready in the range of end of may/ beginning of june.

If they would have made it 20-25mm higher stack, size small would have been perfect for me. Well i would rather have small with also 71.5deg HTA instead of 71 - like the larger sizes, but that is a small thing :-)

Update:

sequence of events:

I ordered the frame in size M (glossy), cause VB told me that this particular combination is ready for shipping at the end of may. Other sizes and colors would have take at least one week (or even month) longer.
End of may: I asked VB if the frame is ready for shipping and got no answer for three days.
VB responded, that the first frames are ready for shipping end of June.
I told them, that one reason for the order was the communicated timeline, cause I need the frame for an upcoming race at the beginning of July.
Their answer was, that they can refund the frame. No sign of admission of the false timeline and lack of communication.

Funny thing: I ordered another frame from VB at the and of 2024 and all went well - the reason I chose VB over other companies.

Sum up: nothing to worry about, but definitely bad costumer relations from VB

I’m a 193cm tall and around 100 kilo, I have been riding mountain bikes for a few years but need something a bit more speedy. This build will be used for commutes on tarmac and gravel.
This is my first build, so I might have done some dumb choices or forgotten something important, but hopefully my

I'm same height as you are and I've recently ordered an XL as well. It looks like you are going to end up with a pretty long position. For a reference, I'm currently riding a lightcarbon gravel frame that is 2cm shorter than this one and I'm running 110mm cockpit and 15mm offset seatpost. For this build i've opted for a 100x420 cockpit and i've ordered both 0 and a 20mm offset seatposts just in case.

I'm not giving you a fit advice of course, just be sure to double check the geo since the frame is really long.

Thanks, this is good input! Im totally clueless when it come to road/gravle bikes, so I maximized size thinking i could always replace the stem etc later on. Since I have to learn this new type of bike i guess that making too eratic changes in start wont make huge impact (except avoiding soar hands and back for too long reach). I will follow your example here
