Great build Tony! The white Lefty is a nice touch on the black frame.

Which version of the crank are you using? GXP or BB30...I can't really tell. If it is BB30...did you have any issues with the install?

Thanks!

I agree. Really nice bike. The lefty is just awesome!

I'm also interested in if people are running into BB30 issues or not. Perhaps, I'll start a thread.

If you haven't seen Pain & Gain with The Rock and Mark Wahlberg then it should definitely be on your to see list. That movie cracks me up every time I watch it!

Yep. Very nice build.

I gotta get me some of that XX1 goodness.

Thanks for the information reply Carbon Dude. Sorry for the redundant question. Not long after I posted this I saw where you had posted this info in the other thread. Either way, it's a good little round-up/summary of what the options are right about now.

I think you may be right about that Tower Pro looking like the best option. The X-fusion line is attractive but after more investigation the forks run about the same price as the Manitou, and I'm actually kind of fond of the Manitou brand for some reason. Not sure why, never owned or even ridden one, guess I've read enough positive things about them over the past years.

Man, really wish I could've snagged a Tower Pro 120mm for $275.  SN - was it only the 80mm that were on sale for that price or all of the travel options? You happen to know if they cycle that deal on and off like a lot of these online shops do? Thanks.

Okay fellas, much appreciate the info I've gotten here so far. Now I was hoping to get a crowd consensus on the best 120-140mmm fork for preferably less than $400. I could go that high bit I REALLY don't want to. I've been reading a lot about the X-fusion forks that have popped up on a few threads here but just wandering what kind of deals some of you guys were able to find on other forks?? Want to keep my options open.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, the RM80C 80mm rim sample will be available next week.

Good to hear, Peter. Thanks.

29er / Re: Should I get the 057 or 256??

Hmmm. Interesting observation Carbon_Dude, and I appreciate having the view point of a mechanical engineer.

I agree that the more "tuning fork" design of the 256 could either be a positive or a negative. Negative if it's weaker, positive if it provides some compliance.

One thing is for sure, I think the 256 has cleaner lines, and just has better overall aesthetics than the 057 (sorry SN and CD  :) ) especially in the headtube area.

Well I know the fat bike frames are just around the corner.. What's the status of the fat rims, Peter?

Awesome, Peter! Thanks for keeping us updated. I know there are at least a few pf us that are considering going the way of the fat chiner.

I've got nothing against Light Bikes but if you are ordering a frame and other parts as well, might as well save some shipping/paypal fees and get everything from one Chendor :).  <--- Like that SN, I got to use your word, "Chendor".

That said, Hope Pro are fine hubs, I just like the DT Swiss stuff more as they are very nicely engineered.

Whoa. Hold the train. That's my word. I am official Chindor inventor guy ;D

After going back and forth for a couple of days I ordered the -057.  The biggest reason is that I didn't want to wait 45 days (or more), but it also seems that the weight difference is not as much as advertised.  Some posters in the mtbr thread are reporting total weights around 1060 g; per Peter the 890 g weight does not include any of the alloy parts.  It's still around 200 g lighter, but I decided that wasn't worth the extra $160 or the extra 45 days.  So now I need to find some lighter tires with that money.  :)

I think I'm with you. $160 is quite a difference considering the frame's price tag. An increase of 30% or more.

No way. I hope these Chinese carbon guys realize the only reason that we're here is the low price. As demand goes up, an increase in price usually follows but there will be a limit on that effect in this particular market. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Looking better! The bottom text is much larger and more in proportion with the top text. I really like the new logo at the top of the site too. The one that just says "Chinertown" in front of the world. Think it's definitely an improvement. More simple and bold. Maybe use the one I quoted for stickers or t shirts or whatever, to let me people know what the site is about, and on the site just use the more plain one since it already says "Chinese Carbon MTB Forums" in the top right corner of the site anyways.

Wow! Really enjoyed that. Thanks for the share.

Hey kokos..

I like the idea of fat bikes but am fairly unfamiliar with them? What kind of weight could one expect to get a full carbon (frame and rims) fat bike?

Also, what about the tyres? Aren't they insanely heavy? Are companies making good progress in innovating and providing lighter tyres with tread patterns optimized for fat bike tyres and not just ported over from the smaller version of the tyre?

Good to hear.. Thanks for the update, Peter!
