Looks like an improved version of my old IP-036 but the never fixed the cable routing for the rear shock.

The VYRO looks like some good engineering, the Suntour looks interesting as well, however, it came out at a time when everyone is moving to 1x setups and getting rid of the front derailleur altogether.

I had an IP-036 for nearly 3 years, put several hundred miles on the frame, sold it about a year ago, and it's still going strong with the second owner.  The frame only cost $700, not $3,000 like the big brand frames so for me, spending 1/4 the cost and still getting a decent frame that didn't give me any troubles was worth the effort.  Not saying there haven't been some buyers that haven't been 100% happy with the IP-036 but my experience was a positive one.  The only reason I sold my IP-036 and IP-056 was I wanted something different that, at the time, wasn't offered in a Chinese frameset.

It's probably really hard to say but a small frame on most bikes is usually for people that are pretty short.  Not knowing what size is right for you, a MED frame probably fits the majority of riders who are less than about 5'-9" tall.

TheBrandon, I have not checked the geometry but it's possible the CS-FS29 is based on the latest Scott Spark.  At least the suspension design appears to match up.

When I had my Chiner bikes, sometimes I would just say it is a custom build out of Asia.  If they asked more questions I would tell them the frame was custom, I selected the model, frame size, the carbon weave, bottom bracket, and paint color and it was customized to my order.  Saying it that way really got people's attention, since that's not something you get to do with the big brand bikes.  Then I would go on to say I hand selected all the components, and built the bike to a spec that's usually found on bikes costing 2-3 times more than I have in the bike.

If you're interested in a 29er, my advice would be full suspension with around 110-130mm of travel in the rear, 120-140mm of travel up front.  Peter has the CS-FS29 available at xmcarbonspeed.com.

However, if you're like me, and your willing to try something new, either a FS 27.5+ or a 29+, I have one of each and have not looked back.  I had x-country oriented Chiners and while they were really good, once I started riding plus bikes, I enjoy riding more than ever.  It's up to you but if you're building a new bike, give Plus a try.

So i got it back today.  He used his plotter/cutter to make a template so there are no visible seems. It looks really good. Pics in the morning.
I ran the rear break outside until i figure out how to cut the hose to feed it through the top tube. Ill need a bleed kit then too.

Not if you use the "no bleed" method to shorten the brake line and run it internally.  Look on YouTube, there are some good procedures posted.  I have a bleed kit and have not needed to use it the last few times I installed new brakes and ran the lines internally.

If anyone needs a spare derailleur hanger for their 036 or 057, I still have a couple on the shelf.  Send me a PM.

Finally sold my Franken-Stache 9 last Saturday.  Sold to someone who'd never mountain biked before, the Trek dealer recommended a Stache for him since he's a big guy (290 lbs).  Of course since it's Spring, Large Stache 7's are backordered.  The buyer got a better deal than buying new IMO.  Hopefully he enjoys his new bike.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: New Wheelset

Lots of good info about building your own wheels.  Maybe I'll order a set of carbon 25.7" rims from Peter and do a new wheel set for my 6Fattie.
