Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset
« Last post by RasmusWH on Today at 03:49:18 PM »
I just ordered the EDGE 35 gravel wheels. They came in at about 1370g and measure 31mm wide. Build completion is months away but they look pretty good. Kind of regretting not getting the 45s but we'll see.

Just received the Edge 45 Gravel here, 1450g w/o rim tape. Plenty of tape for both wheels was included.

If I’m not mistaken 1200 is the original 505. This is the 2023 CFR505 SL (Super Light).

980? Dont Carbonda claim a 1200 weight? That is a big weight improvement.

Can you please give me the contact of Peter

Speed carbon has such rims (Peter from speed carbon on the forum)
Yuanan as well (OEM for Elite, also on the forum)
Farsports for sure
Basically you want rims that are at least 31-32-33-34mm wide.

Which rim is this?

There are very fewchinese d2c manufacturers making rims like that. Farsports make some gravel rims that wide, nextie, lightbicycle. Though the profiles aren't the best aerodynamically, particularly nextie. Ideally you want the rim edge to be wider than the tyre and then the rim to ulge out a bit before tapeting off so the cross section of the tire and rim is as eliptical as possible.

28mm internal would be insane and not at all fit for 28c tyres. You don't really wan't a crazy wide internal anyway

Ask them. Peter by email and Leon by WhatsApp. Their details are on the forum

Hambini did a review of a Lightcarbon gravel frame, up on YT. I'm to stupid to get a URL working in this forum, so you have to find it yourself.
Well worth a look get a feel for LightCarbons QC/QA and engineering principles.

Yes, I've already seen it. Even before buying  :)
Maybe someone can send him the LCR017 Frame  ;D

I'm sooo close to pulling the trigger and getting this ordered. Any idea on the wait time with the custom paint option??

Mikey.

Ordered 27th of April and got the notification that it was shipped on the 8th of May.

Any chance SPcycle will do a lightweight climbing frame with T47 bottom bracket and 32c tire clearance? I know there's the SP-053D, but I'd prefer not to go with a BB86 frameset. I have an older SP-027D which I'm quite happy with. Though I might be interested in getting a climbing frame in the near future.
