That is the current version of the app, looks exactly the same but it connects to my L508 without that message.

I would contact Magene support.

There was rumour of two different versions of the L508, one built just for the Chinese market and the other for the International market. If you bought your L508 from AliExpress you might of got the Chinese version.

I did buy my from the "offical" Magene store on AliExpress, but that was 18 months ago.

Thank you, I did try contacting them via email and even their FB page but no answers so far after a week... I'm considering asking for an aliexpress refund at this point...

I did download the chinese app (wasn't easy for me) and it does connect, but then without any translation the app is completely unusable for me sadly...

I can't even use the english app, mine only connects to the chinese app, which is a bit annoying since there are no translations for anything. Is it possible there are two firmwares? Or even two hardware lights marketed for different regions and I ended up with the wrong one?

FD   Rival AXS   $106
Batteries   Takewell   $23
Crankset   Zele-A12X-OS 150   $47

Saving by going w. cheaper pedals, saddle, mech v. hydro levers, or 11 spd Di2 would probably get you down to $1.4k-ish all in. Even less if you don't care about shifting from the basebar and do full mechanical.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Velo Build R-099 Build

Any update lately? I thinking about either getting this one or VBR268.

Unless there's a very strong reason not to, get the 268. The quality of frames from VB has increased a lot over time. I believe the 268 would fare very well in blind tests with a lot of mainstream frames. Stiffness, layup quality, weight, tyre clearance, all these things got better over time. I wouldn't buy an old VB if i can buy a newer one that fits my specs.

The SL7 compression part and decent bearings fixed all the issues i had. Did a few very hard gravel races with it, its holding up fine

(Plus I have a brand new Yoeleo build finished 4 weeks ago.. bad timing)

How did you experience the order process of your Yoeleo? I am considering to order the R12 but I read some negative stories on delivery times etc.

I did post in my other thread, but just to reinvigorate the thread that gave me the initial inspiration - here is my build that I did for my daughter.

Chameleon paint scheme FM-1306a
Rockshox SID 110mm
Elitewheels 29" xc wheels
Chinese carbon handlebars, seat post and saddle
Ltwoo brakes

Now I have been bitten by the bug, I want to build up a fully rigid XL size bike for myself as a "super gravel" bike, inspired by the Dangerholm Scott Spark - https://www.instagram.com/dangerholm/p/Cy3VYMEMfHI/?hl=en&img_index=1

Well, the build is complete!

It was very straight forward for my first full bike build.

There are a couple of things that I will need to change: the 1 x 12 groupset came with a 30t front ring, which just is not big enough for the wide range 12 speed. We don't live in a hilly area, so the bigger rear cogs aren't getting used at all. I will change it to a 34t - unless anyone has any suggestions?

The brakes are big and bulky - they look lovely, but the rear caliper only JUST fits, pressing up against the frame. I might get a mixed set of brakes - 2 pot on the back, 4 pot on the front like the magura trail sport, OR a custom order from Lewis bike.

The current weight is, and I will remind you this was not a weight weenie build, comes in at 9.86kg (the aim was to be lighter than her old, smaller 27.5" wheeled bike that was just over 12kg)

I will reply when I get some more time with the final costs (spoiler: it was significant, but still half that of a similar build from a boutique brand)

My frameset with the fork bolt holes filled is ready to be shipped, with the extra work its taken just under 30 days from placing the order.

I've been really impressed with ICAN, they've contacted me at every stage of the frame build . I'm looking forward to getting it built up
