Re: Titanium Gravel bike: PYTitans build thread
Thats a great looking build! Did you have to source your own fork or was that part of the deal with PYTitans? Paint job on it looks fantastic.

I chose a different fork from the Aliexpress seller Cwind:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003127524864.html

The quality was not as good as I hoped, I had to clean up the threads and the contact area for the flat mount calipers.
But with some elbow grease the problems were solved.

I decided to give a home made paint job a go and used the "marble" look. Automotive "Blue metallic" spray paint and a plastic foil were used to transfer the pattern to the fork.
The original matte black was sanded slightly with 800 grit sandpaper in preparation of the paint job.
To finish the surface I gave it two coats of clear 1k automotive grade lacquer.
Here is a video where I got the idea for the paint job:

Maybe a full frame paint job in the future....   ;D

Re: Fiber based spokes thread
These are really cool! The user MaineLotus in the MTBR thread has done an excellent job with this. I've ridden with him many times and the bike is impressive to say the least.

I just realized your profile pic is the classic Sugarloaf Outdoor Center pond shot, nice to see a fellow New Englander here. I build my mountain bikes first and foremost to ride in Carrabassett and Bethel!

Re: Spcycle 2022 New 29er Boost hardtail mtb frame
I have built bike with this frame (size M) for my girlfriend in september. I think it is the best downcountry hardtail frame at this moment - good reach numbers, good saddle position, perfect headtube angle (66.0 with 120 mm fork).

I have found only two problems:
1. Chainline must be 53 mm or wider. With smaller numbers chainring is rubbing chainstay. Checked with 32, 34 and 36-teeth chainrings on M8100 crankset (52 mm) and installed M8000-B (53.4 mm) without any problems.
2. Some calipers with 160mm rotors can not be fitted into the rear stays (M6000). But I haven't any problems with M8100 and M7100 with 180 mm.

Yesterday I have recieved the same frame for me and my friends building another two bikes with this frame. Chameleon painting is awesome.

Looks good, I'm strongly considering this frame. Can I ask how tall is you GF? I'm 5'7, thinking the 17" (medium) should be good. Also, what do you think of the seat stay? Is this a compliance thing? It looks less strong then a straight stay.

My GF is 164 cm tall. 17" frame with 45 mm stem and 760 mm handlebar (9 degrees backsweep).

She have noticed some vertical compliance on rough surface. And I haven't noticed any stiffness problems during sprinting and pump track riding on this bike.
I will try this frame in size L soon.

What's the weight of this frame?
Does it have ZS type headset so angleset can be installed?
Frame weight is 1.106 kg.
Headset - integrated, bearings is installed directly into the frame

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts Hey guys I made it thru all 153 pages.  So thankful for all the information here.  I just heard from Adam that my 120mm medium with FSA BB is done and about to ship.  It took a little over a month because I caught the end of Chinese new year.  I have all my parts ready.   Full XT build with SID ultimate 120 and SIDluxe rear.  If all goes well I should be under 23 pounds.  If anyone is interested in my spec sheet I can attach.

Re: Spcycle M016 hardtail frame builds I built up a size large for my son to race cross country in middle school. So far so good.

Re: Water bottle cage
I have probably 10 years or so on either of these...

I had these before and found the little bottom piece quite fragile.
It snapped on both bikes I did install it.
I must be too brutal with the bottles, if you had them for 10+ years :)

Re: Spcycle M016 hardtail frame builds
What do you estimate the maximum rear tire clearance to be? I'm hoping some high volume 2.4's or...god willing, 2.6" could fit.

Maximum tire clearance 2.4“

Re: Custom Waltly Titanium 29er
What size seat post on your Waltly frames? This one has a 31.6 post and it's a sloppy fit. My gravel frame from Waltly has a 30.9 and it fits much better with no slop.

My gravel bike & touring bike are 27.2mm while my ht mtb was 31.6mm. Never had any issues with any of my seatposts (cf, titanium & dropper post).
