Velobuild VB-R-177 Frameset - Large with Extras - SOLD SOLD

testing the waters here before I try and move on to another frame. Was really hoping this would fit 32mm wide tires, but it doesn't (max I've gotten comfortably was 29.5mm) so I'm seeing whats realistic to ask for this.

I figured out all the quirks so the next user doesn't have to. No headset play, seatpost is shimmed, etc. It has a couple of nicks/scuffs on it, but it only have 305 miles on it. I was thinking $500 plus shipping would be a deal. I have about $800 into it as it sits. I'm located in Charlotte, NC and will ship at your cost. I attached a photo of how it currently sits, all built up.

177 Large frame - Metallic Blue custom Paint
Straight Seatpost with soda can shim
Velobuild 120mm stem (never used)
400mm bar
FSA ACR 140mm Stem
FSA No. 55R 1.5” ACR headset
Wheels Mfg BB86 GXP bottom bracket.

Re: Looking for a proper CX frame - Not a gravel frame labeled as CX as much as i love building the Chinese frames, you could easily find a older disc CX frame for around the same price as a new Chinese frame... with CX frames getting beat on so bad, I hate dumping money into them! stick with cheaper components and spend the money on wheels.

Re: Looking for a proper CX frame - Not a gravel frame labeled as CX There’s no reason to put anything more than 105/rival on these things!

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177
Has anyone tried using 30c tires and confirm they fit? If so what wheel and tire combo are you using?

I tried fitting Specialized Roubaix Pro tires (labeled as "30/32") paired to ENVE G23 wheels (23mm internal). Could not even mount the wheels front or back for lack of clearance.

My 30/32 Roubaix on skinner internal rims didn’t clear the front fork. I ran a 28mm gravel king on 19mm internal and it barely cleared the front too. Measured 29-30mm.

This is a big flaw for this frame. Just stick to 28mm and call it a day.

Re: Anyone buy from kingbike888 on ebay? Looks legit... The fact that the wheels are already US based, hell also on Amazon, makes me feel better that if I have any issues I can return them. I had to return a set of ICAN wheels on Amazon and it was great, no issues at all...

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177 my only concern for a first timer is the internal routing and bike fit. you really need to be sure of how your bike fit is before you want to run the cables. if you decide to go taller/shorter on the front end or a wider bar, you pretty much take the whole bike apart.

unless you plan on running an external handlebar/stem, then it just goes through the frame, then you should give it a go!

Re: Standert Bicycles (Berlin Brand) - Who Makes Them? Any Alternatives? Not sure how classic you are looking, but I ended up picking up a Black Heart All Road Aluminum frame. Has the classic lines, the right amount of internal routing, threaded bottom bracket, clearance for 38mm (40mm without a front mech), nothing proprietary. Feels fast with 28-32mm tires, haven't taken it offroad yet but I know it can handle the chunk.
