I quote Wing regarding the 120mm fork:

It changes the handling for sure. After a couple of rides you get used to it.

They say the same for the FM936, and most of us are riding it with a 120mm anyway 8)
Although, they seem to have given up recently for the 936 as they've built a rear triangle for 120mm.

Why BB92? Most MTB people I meet ride SRAM Eagle, and thus DUB spindles.
41mm - 30mm => 11mm /2 = 5.5mm height, is not much space for bearings inside BB cups.
As a result they don't last long. Forcing you to frequent  BB replacement.

Recommendations are no more than 30-40mm spacers below the stem...

I've always read the 30-40mm max as well.
But recently on a build for a person who needed more, I asked Carbonda about it.
And they told me I could use the steerer uncut, and that is the maximum it can have. So no problem to add spacers.
Finally we did choose another frame, but I never thought about it this way.

Really?! I mean that would be awesome. But the specs tell a different story. https://www.flybike-asia.com/product/260.html

With a 120mm fork, that makes less than 69º but you are definitely right !
Taking my dreams for reality...  ::)

...List of Parts:...

Do you have the link to your mudguard ? It looks neat.
Second question, is it effective ?  :)

...Sadly Carbonda can't ship a frame and a wheelset together, so i would have to pay 300€ for shipping, thats a little downer at this front...

You can save a little on shipping when you have a single box, but it is mainly based on weight.

...I really wonder why the chinese manufacturers still build frames with a geo from 2018.

The Carbonda one has a 67º HA, this is not what we had in 2018  ;)

...Carbonda FM1306 in 21'' looks like a good solution, but might come in too long at 480mm reach I'm afraid. Maybe combine it with a super short stem ...
How come it's not on the website of Carbonda? Is it available to order?...

That's the one I settled on, I tried the Haideli one, but quality didn't meet my expectations... to say the least. But it is cheap.

Most builders you will find here do not have the Amazon kind of buying experience.
You can contact Carbonda by email: wing (at) carbonda com, to discuss sizing, painting, lead time and shipping with them directly.

;D I still must wait a little bit, but the frame is painted.
 8)...

Wow... awesome painting.
Will you put a Blue Sid fork ?

Questioning one's spending choices on fake frames: BAD
Insulting one's spending choices on legitimate (albeit expensive) frames: GOOD

Chinatown logic...

Well... paying a bike 14,000 while you can get the equivalent for 7,000
That means two bikes instead of one, just for a sticker.
So yes, it may appear we know something they don't  8)

Little hiccup in the build process. Shimano Deore M6000 calipers will not work on the back end. I’ll order up some ZTTO banjo bolt kits and swap the caliper with some XT calipers that’s on another bike.

These kind of glitches show to me the experience of the frame designers.
Each time I tried some less known frame builders, I got some similar surprises.

Did you hear back from them? I haven’t.

Yes, sorry for the delay, only the 909 is UDH
But maybe we could 3D-print something as you mentioned already if I remember well.
Resisting(strongly) to not take my FM936 to the family house in Croatia, and ... yeah... a 909  ::)

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Magene L508 Radar bike light
« on: March 29, 2023, 04:14:52 PM »
damn that is quick, i also live in an urban area and the thought of having to charge it every ride doesn't sound very pleasant.

Well... now after a ride, I charge the karoo, a whoop, sometimes a SRAM battery, a red light, a front flashing light, a Lupine battery if MTB, and the radar. ???
Hopefully I do not forget to charge my phone, and... my car!
And I'm glad I don't ride an e-bike... yet  ;D

...I printed it in carbon fiber reinforced nylon but could be printed in abs or some other strong filament.
If anyone is interested i can upload the files!

What printer do you use for carbon fiber reinforced nylon?

I assume with everything I buy on Aliexpress that there is NO warranty when I buy...

Not my experience. For more expensive items, I generally buy from the official shop, and each time I got problems that were clearly a product flaw, I contacted the seller and either got a replacement or a part to repair.
