A few weeks ago I was asking about "endurance" and 12 hour shorts that could be purchased from Aliexpress.   I finished an 8 day bicycle camping ride this morning, before the ride, and out of desperation I purchased a pair of "Castelli Endurance 4" Shorts.   I ended up wearing the Castelli shorts 6 of the 8 days.   (Either washing the shorts or wet wiping down the chamois daily.)   I was completely amazed how comfortable they were day-after-day.   My DAREVie shorts, that I have been using on other multi-day rides felt terrible when I tried to use them a second day.

Attached is a pic of the Castelli shorts next to my DAREVie shorts.

I love the Castelli Progetto X2 pad but I find it doesn't last that long. The foam becomes too soft and shapeless pretty fast. And the extra silicone inserts come loose almost straight away. As new I would agree the Castelli is more comfortable than Darevie and the compression is better.

Also when walking in Castelli bibs it feels like they are designed for women absolutely no space in the front where you would like to have some.

Good to know.  Perhaps I will only wear the Castelli's for my multi-day rides, and use my other shorts for regular riding.   I used to wear bibs, but over the years decided I don't like wearing them for most of the riding I do.

Those GEL inserts on any of the bib is devil's invention. No idea how anyone is comfrtable on these for any maount of time. That why you find them on the cheaper of already cheap stuff on AE.

I already bought a jersey from them and pretty pleased with it! In terms of fit and quality, it's almost identical to this SPEXCEL jersey: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EJlpCm6
They really need to work on their marketing and product pages because most of their product images are just basic renders but I find their designs to be really good !

I ordered 5 Aogda jerseys from them too, 3 from one line 2 from another. the sizing was different in either line. I normally buy Asia L as I'm usually EU M, but 2 of the jerseys were far too small. But otherwise they were pretty good and the pockets don't let my phone flop about like the specxel and ykwy ones i have. I have to say the sleeves are a bit loose on my skinny arms, and ride up a little.

At the same I ordered one of these Pasmaap SS jerseys https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006592275599.html and it fits so well I'm ordering another 3. Good length on the sleeves and are nice and tight (well not tight but stay in place and slim) and again, pockets are good and don't let my phone flap about. Ordered size their size L, I'm 174kg 188cm, slim, usually wear western M. Not a big fan of their long sleeve spring/summer jerseys, the sleeve is not long enough for me, and loose.

Afaik (and i geeked hard on the topic), gel = cheap = avoid, as a hard rule. You want foam, no gel. It then becomes a game of finding the right foam, at the right thickness in the right places, with the right density, and the right stitching of the pad.
3d printed saddles are popular for the same reason: it's dense, yet squishy, jar jar likes for the tushy.

I think i have bibs with the pad on that picture. comfort wise, it's ass (according to my ass).

Unsurprisingly, the cheji red pads that are popular on this thread, are full foam.

I definitely missed that, it's crazy how cheap it is, we'll have to see if it will actually be comfortable or not

I do not care how comfortable it is. I am not wearing it with "bravely cycling- bravely explore" boldly written on the back of it!

Oh shit, I hadn't seen the writing on the back, absolutely not, who knows what they think before defining a claim, I hope they asked chatGPT

During the last 11.11 sale I purchased a thicker version of these for the winter days; so far, I can't fault them (not that I wear them now that we're getting excessive heat warnings).

I've got the following 4 in XXXL (I'm 178cm and 98kg, but heading in the right direction) and the fit is consistent, probably slightly smaller than a European cycling XXL. Fit and quality feel very similar to a XXL DHB Aeron lab jersey I have.
