There were sl8 clone forks that exploded under riders a few months ago.

Would you have links or more details about theses cases?

There were sl8 clone forks that exploded under riders a few months ago. There was someone on this thread with a rear triangle that made the bike unrideable.
And more performance, really? The new fake colnago weighs like 400g more than the original: how is that going to ride other than like dog $hit?
Please, read again. I never tell bike are more performant !
Bikes will always break, whether they're counterfeit, generic, or premium brands. I've owned loads of bikes and none of them had a problem... well, almost. I did have a Trek Fuel EX mountain bike whose seat stays cracked, even though the frame cost over €3,000 at the time. My personal conclusion is that these bikes aren't any less bad than others. Everyone is free to do as they please.

There are 2 threads on SL8 fakes here, i think. It's in them. Try the search function, if you look for ""SL8 fork"" you should find it. It was second half of last year, from memory.

The X68 IS a COUNTERFEIT frame. They don't put S-Works logos on which puts them in the darker shades of grey instead of dark counterfeit. Their frames/forks aren't manufactured by TanTan I think. At least I've got two X68 frames which are quite different in terms of quality.

X68 removed from Tantan website, discontinued or sued?

Would bet on sued considering the success this frame has on this forum alone

Sorry but...You really don't know anything about law!
::)There is an important difference between:

a counterfeit → a copy intended to pass off as the genuine brand; Misuse of a trademark
For example, a frame bearing the Trek or Specialized logo when it was never manufactured by that brand.

A near-identical copy of a protected design
This can involve:
the frame design,
certain specific shapes,
patented elements,
characteristic decorations or colors.

an “open mold” → a generic frame legally manufactured without a copied brand. An open mold frame is not necessarily illegal as long as it does not reproduce

in this case, Specialized does not register the frame shape or even its name (SL8). only the logos specialized, S...and trademarks "sworks" "sworks tarmac sl8, roubaix, and so on are registered and can only be used and reproduced with the brand's permission. Therefore, the frame Tantan is not a counterfeit, simply because it only reproduces a form of frame that is not registered.

Received te frame from yohobike, took about 1 month after first payment, 660eur total with payment directly to them. Frame looks well made, smooth finish inside unlike my venge from 2020, which Is still ride.

Frame is a 56 and weighs 1139 grams with all screws and derailleurhanger attached + di2 battery holder.  Fork 505 grams with two screws attached, seatpost 198 grams and handlebar 38mm 90mm weighs 349 grams.

Now waiting for bb tool to install it. Installed a wheel to see if it's symmetrical, seems good.  8)

Looks great. Good luck with the build; hope all your threads are clean and aligned 😂. Only downside is that paintjob is a dead giveaway because it was only offered on the V1 if you care about being called out.

Thx, I don't care about being called out, I just wanted a nice looking colour which I was sure of that they wouldn't fuck up  ;)
Liked thé clear Carbon as well, but there are enough black/dark frames on thé Roads here already.

Fyi, my venge has a colour that they don't sell over here and never been called out, even by an ex pro who has riden on specialized bicycles... None the less, when I get complements I always say it's a chinalized, so now it Will be a fagina?  8)

Proper looking bike! In the end I ordered from Yoho, but opted for a SL8 instead. 1 more week before they ship it out. Hopefully the quality is going to be good.

Also opted for an SL8 from yoho, he send me the final pictures and weight of the frame today. A little over 1300 grams for the fork and frame. What's the total weight of your frame?

UCI sticker isn’t even at the good height (too low)

Not arrived yet, still being manufactured.

I sent them a message to improve the UCI sticker placement.
