It's been a while, but I'm finally back with my finished build. After posting my story with the problem I encountered with my front wheel from elitewheels, they shipped me a new one while I was on vacation in Austria. A bit of a bummer I wasn't able to take the gravel bike with me, but the roadbike did just fine. After coming back yesterday, I completed my build. Also going tubeless for the first time, still unsure about tire pressures, as I'm running 2.2" in the front and 2.0" in the rear. Silca tyre pressure calculator suggested 1.4 bar in the front and 1.6 bar in the rear, don't know if I should go lower, but anyway - here's my full build:

frame: ordered from Tideace, size 54, color 58, with all mounts (I'm 178cm tall with an 88cm inseam)
handlebar: Lexon thin line (because I don't like the extreme flare the unox have), 400x80
groupset: Wheeltop EDS GX, carbon version
crankset: Riro carbon with 46t
BB: Ztto
wheels: Elitewheels Edge Gravel HOOKED 45, tubeless with Silca sealant and Ridenow valves
cassette: Ztto 11-50 11 speed
chain: Shimano 11 speed, waxed
saddle: Ryet 3D printed honeycomb
bottle cages: from a brand called HUALONG (but I'm sure these are sold under any other brand)
tyres: Continental Raceking 2.2" front, 2.0" rear
disc rotors: VXM in 160

I've spent some time calculating and checking my size, before cutting down the steerer. I'm really glad with my fit, did my first 50k testride, everything seemed good. The gearing seems good for my purposes, I can handle most inclines so far and I don't think I'm missing on speed when I'm descending. I've replaced every bolt I'm currently not using with nylon bolts I've found on aliexpress. I was first hesitant which groupset I should use - either Ltwoo gravel or Wheeltop - but someone, I think either gloscherrybomb or Uberflo - recommended the Wheeltop one because of the bigger cassette. I'm glad for choosing the Wheeltop one, because I really like the ergonomics of the shifters. I also tried flaring in the shifters for the first time, to see how much the difference is. That will be decided within the next few weeks, when I'm able to get some more km's in.

In conclusion: I really enjoyed my ride today, the bike feels like a weapon. Even on flats you are able to hold some speed, even though I have these chunky tyres mounted. I loved climbing and my gear range seems enough so far. I love how much of a difference this is in comparison to my roadbike. I'm really looking forward to tommorow's ride and the next few in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for everyone who contributes on this topic!

So today was the Maiden Sportive ride for my build. 125km with 1500m of climbing. Handled it all without any issue - and the most comfortable bike ride I’ve ever had.
After the initial “test” build I decided to invest in some upgrades which were 100% worth it imo.
The final components inc:

Wheeltop EDS Tx
GRX Cranks 48/31
4iii Single sided PM on crank arm.
SRAM Cassette and Chain 11/36 (fits HG Hub)
Redshift Suspension Saddle Post
Redshift Suspension Stem
Redshift Kitchen Sink + Grips
32mm Tyre on Front
40mm Tyre on Rear

Shifting was flawless - it handled the front from 31 to 48 with ease - easily as good as the Di2 system I borrowed the cranks from
And the rear cassette didn’t even need fine tuning after selecting 11s in the app.
The brakes are similarly fantastic. No issue.

Excellent gear range for my needs. Didn’t really feel I was spinning out on the flats, and I was holding the front group until first food stop, so not a Sunday spin. And obviously I had plenty for the climbs - the 36 is maybe unnecessary, but nice to have a bail out.

The smoothness and comfort of the ride was insane. Redshift is really good, really. Those grips also make such a difference.

So happy and proud of my build. I genuinely didn’t miss my Canyon Grail at any stage today - this build is on a par, and I dare even more comfortable.

Thanks to all that helped here with your submissions and updates and to those that helped me out directly by answering my questions. It really made a difference.

TanTan GR201 (size 54) — White “stormtrooper” build

Inspired by the other GR201 builds, I also went with a white gloss paintjob for the stormtrooper look. Cost is ~€3.5k and the bike should land around 8.2 kg with pedals, cages, and sealant (haven’t weighed the complete bike yet — my scale is borrowed).

Rider / fit
178 cm / 70 kg. Size 54 fits me very well with a 100 mm stem and 80 mm handlebar reach; I might try a slightly shorter stem for snappier handling.

Spec highlights (Full build in PDF)
• Frameset: GR201 size 54 — frame 1,272 g; fork 392 g; axles 66 g; headset 128 g.
• Cockpit: Lexon UNOX 400×100 integrated bar/stem — 344 g (needed a few spare spacers to mate nicely with the headset).
• Seatpost: Elita One MT05 — 141 g.
• Crankset Leese C01 160 mm cranks (373 g) + PassQuest 44T (105 g);
• Drivetrain: AXS mix — Apex HRD levers (477 g), Rival HRD calipers (190 g), Red XPLR RD (378 g), Red chain (247 g), XG-1391 cassette (287 g).
• Wheelset: Elitewheels Edge Gravel 2.0 — 1,284 g.
• Tires (tubeless): Conti Race King 2.2 front (606 g), Schwalbe Thunder Burt 2.1 rear (571 g), Orange Seal.
• Pedals: Favero Assioma Pro MX-2 — 384 g.
• Hardware: Most mounting hardware has been replaced with Ti Bolts, Aluminum Adapters and Aluminum Bolts

Ordering & frame details
• Inquiry: Jul 4 → Order: Jul 7 → Photos + tracking: Jul 28 → Delivery (Germany): Aug 7
• Finish: White gloss (YS701). Fork supplied without side 3-bolt mounts (on request).
• Included: headset + both thru-axles.
• Paid via PayPal F&F. Final price from TanTan incl. shipping/taxes: USD 729.
• Notes on quality out of the box: paint is OK but not boutique; some overspray on flat-mounts; mounts a bit flaky. BB shell was clean.

Quick notes after the build
• Coming from a 2020 Diverge X1 (40 mm clearance with 40 mm Thundero tires), this is a big step up for comfort, grip, and tire volume.
• 160 mm cranks are great — I won’t go back to 170+ mm.
• The new SRAM Red 1×13 (10–46) shifts nicely, but I’ll probably revert to a 10–50 Eagle for better climbing range. (I wish there was a 1x13 10-52 option yet)
• There’s ample room for a larger ring — 48T, possibly even 50T, though 44 is good enough for most gravel descents where I live.
• Paint finish is so-so; bolt mounts a bit flaky. Flat-mount faces were oversprayed and not very flat; still working on rotor alignment and may need more careful sanding.
• The Lexon cockpit feels good; took a bit of tinkering and extra  spacer/adapter to get the interface right.

Conclusion
At ~€3.5k this is incredible value: essentially best-in-class drivetrain, ultralight wheels, Favero power meter pedals, and clearance for proper wide tires — all wrapped up in a sub-8.2 kg package. The only real complaints are that the frame itself is on the heavier side compared to the rest of the build, and the integrated storage feels a bit unnecessary to me.

What headset did you use for Lexon handlebar?

Just paid for my GV201 after settling on the frame colours. I went with a 56cm size and am 188cm tall, its very similar geometry to my existing gravel bike thats being retired.
A few questions I am hoping someone can assist with please....

The headset that comes with the bike, is it worth using or should I purchase a better one? I'm hoping for internal cable routing but will be using separate handlebar and stem, just routing into the frame via the headset.

Also, I'll be installing a 24mm LTwoo crank set, same size as Shimano, can anyone recommend a bottom bracket that might fit please? Prefer steel bearings and happy to purchase from Alix or Bikeinn.

Thanks, I'll post some pics once it gets here

Looks like you've changed pretty much everything 😂

I imagine it was very smooth on your event.

Great videos on Youtube with the build - good to see up close a proper unboxing & building to add a bit of confidence when ordering unseen. I'm waiting for my frame now. Slowly assembling the parts in the meantime.

I've gone with this BB for when my frame arrives - I've used in in other bikes and its good! ZTTO T47-24I

What colour have you gone for?

Thanks, just ordered that BB but saw some others are swapping the bearings out, anyone got specs on what to please?
If swapping means longer lasting or better seals that would be great, prefer steel bearings.

Colour wise I went with hopefully close to the Ford GT blue and orange scheme.

The rest of my build is mostly Ali Express parts, 1x12 LTwoo mechanical groupset, some old Prime carbon wheels, looking forward to building it up!

The ztto BB has been great but note I swapped the bearings out almost immediately for enduro steel bearings with the contact seals on the outside and non-contact seals on the inside. This feels like a really good value option as they have held up really well in some rough conditions.

Do you mind sharing any info on the bearings you swapped to please? The size or model would be great if possible. Thanks!

MR2437 LLU/LLB Enduro ABEC 5.

Note the 'LLU/LLB', these are the ones that have fast seals on the inside and contact seals on the outside.

Hey guys, sorry to bother you, but I need some advice. My frame is arriving soon, and I already have all the components at home. The only thing I'm unsure about is that I got the Ritchey Logic-E to run the cables inside the frame, using a normal stem and handlebar. The problem now is that the Ritchey comes with a grommet for two cables, but I have four cables (two for the brakes and two for the shifters). How can I get them all through there? Should I remove the grommet? Did I make a mistake getting the Ritchey? I was trying to 3D model and print it, but there are too many angles and I can't copy them all.

Do you have any ideas?

As I can see on the picture you can remove the part with just one hole on each side to get four cables through.

So I just take off the grommet and go? But then won't dirt get in?

I don’t think that there will get much dirt into the frame under the stem. You could use some tape to close the hole.
