I read further up that there have been some issues with this, so I wanted to ask: are there any experiences so far with the Magene PES power meter and chainrings larger than 40T? I’d like to run a 46T, but at least 44T.
1) No issues with the PES power meter, other than the fact that it is a road crankset so you have to space your crank or chainring further out in order for it to fit.
2) For chainring clearance, the chainstay design means that you have to space the chainring out quite far to clear a bigger ring. I have a 50T at somewhere around 50.5mm chainline, but it looks like going for a smaller ring wouldn't really allow me to reduce the chainline at all, until we get down to maybe a 44T.
Also, does the frame work well with a mechanical drivetrain? I’d like to keep using my GRX 1x12.
Especially for 1x, no issues at all.
And is there anything else to watch out for when ordering — any headset, spacers or other parts you need to mention, di2 holder? Or is it better not to order from there at all and go somewhere else(for example headset)?
DI2 holder yes, mine came with headset parts but not a full headset - note that they now also write on the site "Package included: Frame+fork+seatpost+bearings+thru axles+hanger".
I believe this used to say "headset" instead of bearings.
