My Velobuild TT in size M is finished and rides incredibly well – it's lightning fast!

The color is exposed carbon with a glossy clear coat and custom decals (which Velobuild produced for an additional fee and applied under the clear coat).

TRP brakes (with SRAM Blips)
SRAM XPLR rear derailleur (54/10-36)
SRAM Rival E1 Powermeter
ELITE EDGE 2.0 (65mm)
12cm of Spacers

Custom-designed toolbox
AeroCovers on the spacers

All parts are 3D printed.

Looks amazing! Could you post a top down picture of the cockpit? So we can see the BTA from rider POV?

How much extra did they charge for the decals? I was thinking of doing custom decals as well.

Are you USA based? If so, did you pay tariffs?

The decals cost an extra $180.
I'm from Germany and purchased the "Seller Shipping Method" via DPD.
I didn't have to pay any additional fees or taxes.

I'll post more pictures as soon as possible.

Good morning everyone,

coming back here after a few months away from the forum.

My TT was initially built with the original front end but with 9 cm of spacers. Later I bought the Winow aerobar, which looks very similar to the FastTT one. Since they are flat, I also had to buy the angled spacer block from Winow to give them some tilt.

Because my bike is built with Shimano, I currently have some adjustment limitations due to cable length. I still need to decide whether I will disassemble everything and replace the cables, or simply replace the whole groupset.

My frame was purchased in 2024 and the derailleur hanger seems to be the same one used on the VB268 road frame. It does not look like a UDH to me. Has this part been updated on newer versions, or is it actually possible to mount a UDH there? I’m asking because installing a 13-speed SRAM derailleur could be an interesting option.

I’m also open to suggestions for systems/solutions to mount a front hydration setup.

If anyone has questions regarding the bike build or any component, such as the Winow aerobar, feel free to ask!

I have 13sp sram e1 xplr on this frame. It’s not worth it. The frame is not actually udh compatible whether due to tolerances or design. Just get 12sp.

Interesting comment. You have a 13 speed UDH XPLR derailleur installed, yet it is not compatible?

Can you explain?

When ordering the frame, I specifically requested 1.0 thread pitch thru-axles (which are normally sold with a 1.5 pitch). Chris asked whether I planned to use the SRAM E1 XPLR, and I confirmed that I did. He made no mention of any incompatibility.

At first I did not consider this frame because it was not UDH, but when it was upgraded to UDH (also confirmed by Chris) it became my first option. If not compatible with SRAM UDH derailleurs, then it defeats the purpose of being UDH at first (I'm having a hard time figuring this incompatibility thing)

It's certainly a lot of money for "decals," but on the other hand, you can give free rein to your ideas and AI, thus creating a very individual and unique racing bike.
And the decals are much thinner than this you can Cut Out of Vinyl.

I really enjoy giving my Far Eastern bikes my own design with lettering and logos.

They have a lead time of 10 days.

Would be good to hear what you’re also looking at.

Looking for anything with a wider IW optimized for wider than 25s hoping to run 30/32s. Both of those look better than what I've been looking at.

I’m definitely going to go with custom paint and I want to do my own logos/name, but I think I’ll look for a cheaper option. Yours looks great having it under the clear coat, but I’m trying to keep costs down!

Is the BTA holding well? I printed the bar from @ottawabikeparts but it cracked using a full bottle. I think this is partially due to my bottle cage that is very tight so I had to use quite some force to pull the bottle out.

The BTA is rigid. But only if it is stabilized with aluminum tubes. 3D printing alone is insufficient for these weights and mounting requirements..

Not entirely true. There are several materials that can significantly increase strength, multiple ways to print the parts, and you can always redesign them to be much more rigid and durable — this is especially important.

I’ve tested at least five different BTA solutions in PETG, and they worked decently. However, when I switched to Tritan HT, the performance improved considerably.
That said, exposing the parts to direct sunlight (for example, during a transition) will definitely hurt their longevity.

For an extra level of safety, you can coat the 3D printed part with resin — much like a carbon fiber + resin composite, but without the carbon. This usually turns the part into something extremely sturdy.

It's true that high-quality materials or coatings can be used for 3D printing, thus significantly increasing durability.

But with clever application and precise positioning of aluminum tubes, stiffness and longevity can be multiplied.
And this without increasing the weight.
For example, the mounting hole on to the handlebars is made with a bonded aluminum sleeve, allowing for tightening torques of the M5 screw that would otherwise be impossible in plastic.
The mounting threads for the bottle cages are embossed M5 nuts and can also be used to attach the computer mount.

I´ve made this extensions or adapters to be more comfortable.
The one in the photo is made of alumium CNC and you can see it mounted in the bike with the original aerobars.
Since I´m changing them with Tideace Kairos aerobars, I´ve made more adaptors in different angles. It uses M5 screws also.
The new updated version is more versatile.
Files are ready to be CNC.
Hope you find this useful to get more comfortable or aero in your bikes (not only the TT023).

Hello, I would like to install a one piece carbon base bar (and stem combo) instead of the two piece design that comes standard with the frame. I have contacted Chris about compatibility with the frame but he is not sure what base bars are compatible. Does someone have experience with this?

My main concern regarding of the desire for this change is the flexibility the setup now has with the aluminium stem in combination with the carbon base bar. Previously, I had the carbon stem and base bar combo where the base bar slipped and cut of my brake lines almost causing a crash during a race. I was happy knowing there was a aluminium stem comming. (The alu stem feels sturdy yet too flexible for me).

Hopefully someone can help me!
