Hello, I would like to install a one piece carbon base bar (and stem combo) instead of the two piece design that comes standard with the frame. I have contacted Chris about compatibility with the frame but he is not sure what base bars are compatible. Does someone have experience with this?

My main concern regarding of the desire for this change is the flexibility the setup now has with the aluminium stem in combination with the carbon base bar. Previously, I had the carbon stem and base bar combo where the base bar slipped and cut of my brake lines almost causing a crash during a race. I was happy knowing there was a aluminium stem comming. (The alu stem feels sturdy yet too flexible for me).

Hopefully someone can help me!

In the start of this thread there are a few comments about compatibility with the Tririg Alpha One integrated front end, it is compatbile, but the stem won't be flush with the frame (stem is slimmer). Tririg now sells the Alpha Prime and I assume it will be compatible too.

Don't expect to find any other information on compatibity besides what is already available, very few people will dare to try a different front end. Meaning, it's up to you to risk and find out...

Another question: did you cut the basebar handles a bit shorter? they look not as long as others?
Does anyone have experience with cutting these bars? would it be safe to cut them a bit shorter? I think that would improve handeling (especially using RideRever Trivia brakes, that only extend outwards)

I'm looking into the BXT handlbar. Not many universal options in both the mainstream or chinese market that have an integrated stem. There is tririg and the vision metron tfa base bar. Both are pricey.

Mmmm I don´t remember...I just measured the length of the brake lever and cut the handlebar as short as I could following the instructions.

I'm looking into the BXT handlbar. Not many universal options in both the mainstream or chinese market that have an integrated stem. There is tririg and the vision metron tfa base bar. Both are pricey.

Just as the answer above I looked into Tririg from previous thread. It seems to work but the fit is not flush (does not matter so much). I am also looking into this handlebar from a different frameset. (https://www.seraphbikes.com/UDH-Carbon-Time-Trial-Bicycle-Frame-TT928-TT-Bike-Frame-Aero-Triathlon-Bike-Frameset-High-Quality-Disc-Brake-Max-Tire-70030C-p6901419.html). Again not sure it will fit but I don't see much problems. If anyone has an opinion on it, please tell me!

Do they sell it separately? I'm always confused with the way these places handle stuff. I think the winnow tt129 has an integrated basebar/stem as well but i don't know if they would sell it separate as they don't have it listed as its own item yet but they have a other base bars and extensions on their site (https://sites.google.com/view/winowcycle/carbon-tttr-frame/tt129-arb02). I don't think you would get a perfectly flush fit from anything in less it was designed for the frame you're putting it on. I do doubt there is much info/experience out there mix matching these frames with many base bars.. You could look a speed concept base bar but good luck finding one.

Yes of course. It´s easier than cutting the steertube.
You insert the handlebar into the brake lever, and measure how much you want to cut, then remove the brake lever and cut out X milimiters (according to your measure) from de end of the handlebar and that´s it.

I don’t really like the looks of the VB basebar, but I love the look and rise of the Winow bar. I’ve asked if they would sell the basebar separately and was told no. That was last year at some point so maybe the answer would be different now? I would love to have that basebar on the VB023

Hi. It´s heat shrink tape that is originaly for fishing rods.  There are different diameters.
It´s very easy to install (just cut and heat with a heat gun or hair drier) and gives you grip.

Did anyone find that they had to trim their seat post? I'm 180cm and ordered a medium and I had to trim the seat post, just to be able to get to the right position. I am using an ISM Adamo saddle which does seem have a high seat rail though. Mind you I do have little legs.

I feel like I need to shorten the steerer tube since I received the metal stem. I cannot pull tight the play as the plug is touching the cap before it's tight. How low should I cut?

I've got the alloy stem too and just cut my steerer tube today, I installed all the bearings and rings, mounted and tightened the stem, then marked where the lowest part of the stem meets the steerer tube. I then cut 5mm below that. That seemed to work fine and didn't interfere with the cap touching the compression plug. I was worried that the compression plug has about 1mm height above the steerer rube, but it was all ok.

What flat mount are people using for their front brake? I’m using the Riderever Triva, but can’t get enough clearance between the mounted brakes and my 140mm rotors. Does anyone have an AliExpress link they can share?
