So any catastrophic failures with this one so far? I read about the TT-X68 one and thinking this might be a better choice
I read a flexy top tube which is disconcerting. Does everyone who bought this frame have the same issue?
Top tube on mine has been sturdy. At first I thought it was flexy mainly from just squeezing it, but it's held up fine. It was probably me that mentioned the top tube flex, but I was comparing it to my 1150g gravel frame that's just built more beefier. Best way I can describe the R088 is that's it's nimble and compliant. It's the kind of bike you don't notice when riding.
When you receive the frame, check that there's no damage from shipping, make sure you have enough washers on your rear thru axle if it's a conical drive side hole (new production frames should be a flat hole) and to check if the bottom bracket has no spacing issues. Those are like the only issues that have popped up on this thread that I can think of.
On paper I think this is the better frame based on features. The only reason I would opt for the X68 is to own a fake SL8!
