Btw where did you order your seat clamp from I can’t find it in stock.

I got it from performance bike, they were one of very few online shops that had it for a reasonable price.

Nice work on the shim, thanks for sharing. I think I'll try PPF under the mount the next time I rotate my chain. Do you think you could have gotten away with a thinner shim?

I think this shim was the minimum I could get away with.

I realise now that we have different saddle clamps, mines an open hole that uses wedges to tighten, no idea what this style is called so I’m struggling to find anything lighter. Will get a ti bolt for it soon.

Only thing I‘m not 100% sure about is preload. No matter how much I tighten the Ahead-Cap-Bolt, the steering won’t get rough. But I feel that everything gets nicely compressed as it should. Maybe it should be that way, just not used to it from other bikes 🤷🏼

Mine is the same as this if it offers any reassurance. I just tighten to there's no play and the spacers are nice and secure, and since using a cane creek Ancora expander plug I've had no issues whatsoever with headset play. My original expander kept coming loose, but it was a cheapo so suspect maybe tolerances etc weren't quite right.

After talking to SPCycle about the above matter we have come to a mutual agreement. I can only complement their customerservice!

The new frame has a correctly aligned bottom bracket. Both sides screw in perfectly now. I chose the glossy ud carbon this time. The new frame has better faced brake mounts, different thru axles , and only one gold non conical spacer on the rear. Very curious to see how it rides!

May I ask you what mutual agreement you reached?

I think this shim was the minimum I could get away with.

It sounds like I'll have to combine multiple layers of film to produce a shim thick enough to make a difference then.

I think I may get a cheap roll of 1/16" rubber instead. The only thing I'm worried about is how compressible the rubber is and if/when it degrades, I'll have to remake this shim sometime again.

Got my frame the other week. The BSA threads are a bit of a mess. Can only screw the BB part way in. Fingers crossed they just need a chase out.

Nice. If the roll of rubber doesn't work for me I'll try an old credit card too.

Were you not worried about marring your frame with the plastic card though?

It seems like the barrel style clamp is standard for Specialized 0 offset seat posts.

Its at the bike shop at the moment but the mechanic just called me to say he could fit the BB easily so it's looking like this is user error.

Struggling to solve my headset play issue, tried tightening the preload way too much and no luck, anyone find a solution?

After a few weeks and some vacations in between, my frame is here, and I have started to put things together.

The goal was to stay on 1k, so I went for mechanical Ltwoo R9 gouurpset (120), Magene P505 (I already had it), a set of Tagoola Wheels (350), Toseek TKR100 Handlebar (70)

So far, the biggest issue is cable routing through the handlebars and headset. It was a nightmare, but it was possible. I hope to finish today  and do a small test

Someone here solved the problem by replacing the expander....I think I'll do the same before even assembling the frame....looking at it, it didn't inspire confidence/reliability in me.
