Received my gravel wheels (32int, 50deep) today. 4 weeks from payment to receival in Germany.
Including free spare spokes, valves and installed tubeless tape.

I've been reading through this thread for a while and Serenade seems to be one of the brands that keeps popping up.
The value for money looks pretty crazy to be honest, especially compared to some of the mainstream brands. The specs seem good, the weights look competitive, and with the discounts that are floating around they're starting to look very tempting.
Just wondering what people's experiences have been though. Has anyone actually had any issues with the wheels, hubs, bearings, spoke tension, warranty support, or anything else?
From what I've seen so far they seem to be offering a lot for the money and I haven't come across many complaints, but sometimes that can just mean people don't bother posting follow-up reviews after they've bought them.
I've had a look through the range and they seem like a solid option on paper. Would be good to hear from some long-term owners and not just people who've weighed them straight out of the box. How are they holding up after a season or two of riding? Any regrets or would you buy another set?

If you don't need the absolute lightest, but still competitive (in terms of weight) wheelset, I think Serenade is a great option that is cheaper or very similarly priced than other offerings around here. I got a 45mm carbon wheelset with carbon spokes from them this winter for 560€ including shipping to Europe. The wheelset weighs 1120g with tape installed (comes in the box).

The wheels I received were not *completely* balanced, but they were good enough so I was not bothered adjusting them. This is about the only complaint I have. The pros really outweigh the cons though: wheels are fast, don't feel sluggish, have maintained their balance during the ~4000km of use (this includes some unforgiving gravel use -- even though they are road bike wheels), the support has been great regarding some questions I had before and after ordering/using the wheelset. There seem to be a lot of good wheel manufacturer options available lately, but I can fully recommend Serenade. I think they shine especially in the pricing and aftersales support department.

Serenade were kind enough to send me a set of their new 65mm “Snakeskin” wheelset for review.

Full disclosure—they sent these to me free of charge, but the opinions below are entirely my own. In fact, I’d already been seriously considering buying a set because I thought they looked really interesting.

I’ve now got around 90km on them, so these are only first impressions rather than a full review.

Specification:

* 65mm front / rear
* 20/20 spoke count
* 3.9mm carbon spokes
* Claimed weight: 1,296g

I’m running Continental GP5000 30mm front and 32mm rear, which measure approximately 32mm and 34mm on these rims. The front tyre/rim transition works really well aerodynamically, while the rear is a little wider, which I don’t think is particularly important.

Initial impressions are very positive. They’re light for a 65mm wheelset, feel impressively stiff under power and have been very stable in crosswinds so far. No strange noises, no brake rub, and they’ve felt solid from the first ride.

The “Snakeskin” finish is obviously going to divide opinion. Personally, I like that it’s something different, but I know it won’t be for everyone. Whether you love it or hate it, it certainly stands out.

Are they the lightest 65mm wheels available? No. But coming in at just under 1,300g, I think that’s an impressive weight for a wheelset of this depth.

I’ll continue riding them over the coming weeks and update this thread once I’ve got a lot more miles on them, including some faster group rides and rougher roads.

Received my wheels today. Package was nice and secure, came with tubeless valves, 2 spare spokes and tubeless tape.

On my scale the weight was 1430g (-10g from their own spec sheet) before tape.

Total time:

Ordered on - 15.June
Shipped out on - 20. July (35 days)
Received on - 30. July (10 days)

As you can see the shipping took a lot longer than the initial promise of 15 days, additionally there was radio silence on their end over the delay - I had to be the one to provoke to get answers.

Other than that, initial impressions are very good and I got exactly what I was after. The delay to be honest was expected (seems to be the norm, rather than exception on this forum in general). Will keep this thread updated as time goes on and riding impressions.

Purchased earlier this year, TRF60s with 278c hubs in titanium colour.

I had to change the front bearings immediately, but that was the only issue I experienced. Quite happy so far.

Shipping times are generally estimates provided by the shipping company rather than the brand itself. Because they're estimates, there isn't technically a "delay" unless a guaranteed delivery date was agreed. That said, I do think some brands can be a little optimistic with the shipping times they advertise because shorter lead times help make a sale. In reality, they would be better off being more transparent from the outset and setting realistic expectations.

Once the wheels have been collected by the courier, the brand has very little control over the shipping process. Transit times can be affected by customs clearance, airline schedules, local distribution hubs and domestic carriers, all of which are outside the manufacturer's control and, in many cases, outside the shipping company's direct control as well.

That said, I do agree that communication is important. Even when the delay is outside their control, a quick update to explain what's happening goes a long way and prevents customers from having to chase for information themselves. A realistic estimate and proactive communication are usually appreciated far more than an overly optimistic delivery date.

Don't get me wrong, I agree 100%, I've been dealing with Chinese stuff in general long enough to not be naive to this - or even mind it much. However I must point out that in this case, it was not the shipping that was delayed (Shipping was actually lightning fast and shorter than deadline), the delay and silence came from the assembly end - i.e the manufacturer. Again.. not a big deal, but if I was writing an honest review of experience, I had to include it.

So far ~500k done with them and very happy with the wheels themselves!

No worries. There is sometimes a tendency for Chinese suppliers to go quiet, ignore messages, or only provide part of the story when something goes wrong or there are delays. Personally, I am very much of the opinion that any news is better than no news, whether it is good or bad.

The problem is that they often do not want to upset the customer, so they do not say anything, but in reality that usually has the opposite effect. Shipping and production times are estimates, and sometimes things take longer than expected due to unforeseen issues or delays.

In my opinion, it is always better to be honest and keep the customer informed. Most people are understanding if they know what is happening, but a lack of communication can be frustrating.

That said, I am pleased to hear the wheels have now covered around 500 km and that you are happy with them. That's the most important thing in the end.
