Well, it seems my rear SR278C hub is no exception when it comes to bearing issues - it developed a play. Has anyone here tried replacing the bearings themselves? Do I need any special tools?

The video only shows how to install the ball bearings. But what about removing them?

On which side of the hub is the ball bearing pushed out first? DT Swiss has a clear instruction. Why not use something like this: https://www.bearingprotools.com/collections/hub-bearing-tools

I was gonna recommend the TAR50 but the bearing issue is kind of bummer :/

What has the rim to do with the hub? Choose another hub and everything is fine.

Last year I communicated with Serenade over Whatsapp to have a set of MTB wheels with non-standard orange Koozer hubs built up, but those were with standard J bend spokes and I know carbon spokes can be somewhat nonstandard when it comes to hub compatibility. Let us know what they say. :)

Got my new wheelset yesterday.
55mm height, TAR55WS, so 25mm internally. Ordered it with SR248 hub, Pillar 1420 spokes.

Wheels seem to be true, weight is 1370g, 30g lighter than expected. Got it without spoke holes, as i didn't state clearly I wanted it with, so my mistake, but not that big of a deal to me, unfortunately no drainage hole, should have stated this more clearly as well.
At first glance I thought I was nuts, but the spokes seemed to be wider than the Pillar1420 on my other wheelset, measured it, well yeah 2.2mm wide not 2.0mm wide, gave Serenade a short message, they explained they had no Pillar1420 in the correct length and "upgraded" my wheelset to Sapim CX Ray. I don't complain about that ;)

Unfortunately I need to spacer the brake disc at bit out, in comparison to my other wheelset and 0,4mm don't seem to be enough compared to the Goldix R180SL, so I've got to wait for the spacers.

Totally unrelated, on the front everything matched with my other wheelsets, but holy F why can't shimano build discs that don't need to be trued straight out of the box. Paying 40-60€ for a piece of aluminium and steel, just so I need to true it...

I got around 2.500 km on a set of 50mm wheels with 20 carbon spokes (3.3mm) front and back.
They're the 23 internal/34 external rims with Conti GP 5000s in 32mm (Measuring just shy of 33mm on these rims).
With the SRC 278 hubs, I weighed the set at 1.250g.
It's my first carbon spoked wheel set. They are VERY stiff, which feels awesome during climbs and sprints. They also feel a lot harsher than my 60s with CX-Rays. But it's basically offset and comfy enough due to the wider tires and tpu tubes, I'm running on these.
Very happy with these. For the price, it's a no brainer as an all-round do-it-all wheel set on a road bike.
