Irish Cycles, are these Chinese frames rebranded?
« on: February 20, 2025, 12:24:01 PM »
I suspect Irish cycles is using cheap Chinese drones and repainting them? You guys are experts at this, can anyone figure which makes/models they are using? If they are…

It's an ugly trek emonda.
Given how poor the website is, and how shitty the logos on the bike are, you can be certain they buy their frames from someone in China, they couldn't be hyper competent on one end and shockingly incompetent on another.
Fast on the flat. And nowhere else.

I have a feeling that the website has not been updated since 2007.

But hey, it could be worse, just look at Amazon website.

With that said, they're definitely using Chinese frames, but overall value doesn't seem terrible.

Ok, nevermind, the value is absolutely terrible. I thought it was 2700 USD for complete bike build with Force AXS, not 5k.

I kinda figured they were junk lol. They sponsor a local NC race team near fort Bragg. They use “veteran owned” ad a way to protect and add flavor to their fake brand. This stuff needs to be called out. Everyone agree it’s BS? Check out there Facebook pages. They also have a “wheel brand”. Looks exactly like elite wheels to me.

I could qualify for their not all that great military discount but would have much better  mil discount options with Canyon, Intense, and several other far more legitimate brands.

I could too, see guys riding around with their wheels feeling proud. I just don’t think they know, the same wheels are available for half the cost on eBay. The funny part is, these guys would clown on a person using Chinese “junk”. Classic!!

For what their carbon wheelsets cost, you could get much nicer November wheels.

Yeah, they are based out of a guy’s house in Fayetteville, NC.  I think it’s just an avid veteran cyclist that started his own thing.  Seen 1-2 of their bikes on the road.

I don’t think they do that much business.  I’m 99.9% sure they are open mold frames from China.  Never saw them claim they were otherwise.

I don't think it's worth to start the holy war. Big chunk of "boutique" brands use OEM frames and the rest use quite similar approach. If people want to believe their Trek frame is made in USA with some special american sauce, disapproving them only makes them to channel the frustration on you. Otherwise, they would have done their own research years ago.
