Another Aethos clone coming soon UDH/T47
« on: February 25, 2025, 01:28:51 AM »
I just saw pics and specs on a new Aethos clone coming soon. Geometry differs from the other clones with slightly more upright geometry, shorter head tube, longer reach, etc. I compared geometry charts with the ICAN FL1 and they are not the same. Also it's confirmed EPS molded and UDH equipped. No word yet who will sell it internationally. Priced in China 3499 RMB or slightly under $500 USD.  :)

2025 Lightweight Road Bike Frame "Aether" EPS Molding Technology
Imported Toray T800 Carbon Fiber XXS/XS/S/M/L/XL
Full Internal Routing Design
Tire Clearance 700*32C Threaded
T47 Bottom Bracket
SRAM UDH Rear Dropout
27.2mm Round Seatpost
External Clamp Front 100×12, Rear 142×12
Compatible with Mechanical/Electronic Shifting Weight

(Gross Weight, ±30g): XXS(46) 780g, XS(47) 790g, S(52) 800g, M(54) 810g, L(56) 825g, XL(58) 845g, Fork 350g

Had to cut off the measurements for size 58cm XL, here are the numbers in the same order as the rest:

550 | 576 | 174 | 410 | 615 | 74.5 | 73.5 | 74 | 371 | 43 | 1014 | 531 | 415

I really don't get the extreme reach levels we are getting nowadays from china
56 = Stack 555 --- Reach 408
58 = Stack 581 --- Reach 415

Unless the new trend is going to be smaller stem lengths soon we'll be laying horizontally on a bike

and 500 is not super cheap once one needs to add HB etc

Yeah, this looked like a great frame at first but once I saw it would get a long reach my interest was gone...

God I hope for more geometries like this, I'm not paying over 5k € for a ridley or dare frame, there's already a million cookie cutter geo frames out there

What annoys me is that there are a bunch of SL8 and Aethos clones, but no one is making a Crux style frameset. That's the one I actually want.

I run a 130mm stem on my 54cm ~380 reach bike. Part of it is the move to narrower bars- the narrower the bars the more forward your hands go. And part of it is a change in fit philosophy which seems to be shifting road bikes towards tri fits (long and more importantly high). That is the most aero fit normal human beings can hold for a long time.

Looks like they don't even know how to spell "FRAME"

Are you sure this is not just an FL1 but measured slightly different?

I compared the FL1 geometry, it's slightly different:

A lot heavier on that page... 910gr for the 52 without fancy paint... So I guess it's not the same as the fl1 as those are a lot lighter.

Indeed. Good catch

And all with different geometries eheh.
