SRAM AXS battery alternatives

Anyone with experience on alternative SRAM etap/AXS batteries?

My aim is to find a AXS batteries with greater capacity to get rid of charging anxiety.

Bigrock has one with claimed 600mAh, does it hold twice the SRAM originals capacity of 300mAh?

Any else out there that has tested any alternatives?

I'm curious about aftermarket brands as well because I'm about to order some SRAM AXS batteries. Unfortunately, I have no experience / tested any other models, and there isn't much information or many reviews out there...
I'll probably stick to the SRAM ones.

I've been using MRX batteries for AXS for a while. Although the capacity is smaller, they are significantly lighter and cheaper so you can carry spare battery without issues and simply get more batteries to not worry about weekly charging.

I’ve been using RRSKit batteries off eBay. No issues other than maybe they didn’t like the cold that much and had to be charged more often. That might be normal with the regular ones, too. I wouldn’t know. I bought my Sram Axs used without batteries and only ever used these. Also, the remaining charge that is displayed in the app sometimes doesn’t seem to be terribly accurate. I just charge them as soon as the derailleur give me the red warning light. As long as it’s not freezing outside that usually means they got more than enough juice to finish the ride and then charge.

It's not normal with genuine batteries. The low battery reported in the app and to the head units is the same and corresponds to indicator lights on the derailleurs. I ride in subfreezing temperatures and have never noticed a change in battery life between winter and summer. Theoretically, there should be some, but I've never noticed.

I only ever had one incident where the RD battery died mid ride. And to be fair, I don’t really pay particularly much attention as to how long the batteries hold their charge. I also don’t really check the app often. It just works reliably and every now and then when I feel like it’s been a while I charge them.
Like I said: I don’t really have a baseline to compare them against.

I'm in the same situation as you, I just bought a Sram Rival RD (for a TT setup) and I'm looking for the best price/durability ratio. I saw Bigrock on aliexpress but no strong opinion on the pages.. If since the beginning of the topic you have sharpened this or that brand let me know!

they are working fine - no problems so fare. Can not tell if they hold longer as i havn't tested them against my geniune one.
Got them for 13€ and 16€ which is a steal compared to the original price

I can't really recommend the RRSKIT batteries on Aliexpress/eBay. They work. They keep their charge and I can do approx. 500k per charge. Maybe more depending on conditions. I don't really track it. But when they die, they die without warning. Sometimes anyway. I've had this happen two or three times now. You check the app and it shows more or less full charge. But on the ride, the warning pops up on the Wahoo and the indicator lights on the derailleurs start flashing red. You'll get home but it's a bit nerve wrecking. On one occasion the FD battery just flat out died mid ride with no prior warning. I had not used the bike for about a week or so when it happened and had to climb everything in the biggie on the way home. That wasn't fun. I'm looking for alternatives because of this.

I have a few AXS bikes and rotate through a stock of SRAM, MRX, and Bigrock batteries.  The Bigrock batteries do not seem to last any longer than the others.  I speculate that they are rating the battery based on the combined capacity of the two 3.7v cells inside it, rather than providing the total capacity at 7.4v as SRAM does.

If you're experiencing range anxiety, why not just bring an extra battery?  I keep a charged battery in the downtube compartment of my GR201 and just swap it out whenever I get a low battery warning on my head unit.

Sure. But battery capacity is not really the issue. It’s about getting reliable readings in the app to know what’s going on. Currently I’m basically blind to the battery level until it almost dies. So I keep charging it more often than I need to. That’s alright but I wish I could check the status reliably. Does it work with the bigrock batteries?

I rarely change a battery before getting a low battery warning on my Garmin, never had one die on me either.  Just bring an extra battery with you and swap it after the other battery dies, I always put the dead battery in my pocket so I don't forget to charge it after the ride.
