Brands for completed bikes
« on: April 28, 2025, 03:58:20 PM »
Hello all, I am going to China for 6 weeks this summer and since I am in interested in getting a new road bike I've been looking into Chinese brands so I can buy it and ride iit there and then bring it back. Most of the brands I've seen are just offering frames. What are some companies yall would recommend for a complete bike? The ones I have found are Serk, Seraph, Elves (small selection)

Also does anyone have any experience with buying a bike in China and then bringing it/shipping it back to the EU? Do I have to pay customs or VAT or anything like that?

Thanks

If you get a bike and fly back with it. You own it, I don't think VAT applies to stuff like that.

You can look for Pardus bikes or XDS X-lab for complete bikes

You have to ride it there (it needs to look used). If it looks new you'll pay.

Not sure it is worth. I think it's easier to try a couple of them there and then order them to be shipped to the EU

Yeah it might not be financially the best way but I want a new bike anyway and would love a bike when I am there as well. I talked with Serk and they would ship it back after I leave China. Just costs money ofc.

For Pardus and Bross, the probably cheapest way to get them is via UAE from https://www.uaecycle.com/collections/roadbike
Otherwise Avenger/Hongfu should also be mentioned. The Avenger Shuttle and the Shuttle SL are sold als complete bikes. The weights on the website should be taken with a grain of salt, according to what they have told me the Ultegra version of the Shuttler is 6.82 kg and the SL 6.7kg. https://avengerbikes.com/collections/carbon-road-bike

There are also some other brands and shops trying to sell you full bikes via aliexpress or alibaba, but with some of them I'd take things with a grain of salt.
