Hey friends, my saddle slipped today on an uneven path and I wanted to ask you how tight you tighten the screws and whether you use carbon paste or something similar on the contact surfaces?

Just tight is by feel. Never used a tourqe wrench on my saddle bolts and actually on most of my bolts and never had a problem.

I just remembered that yours is the frame with the painted seatpost. How has that been working out? Do you feel like the paint has been a factor in fitment? Is the interface with carbon paste and the painted seatpost fine?

Works fine, though have not been out on a bumpy road yet. Will keep you posted (pun intended!).

If I pull the trigger on this frame I will definitely be buying these:

What is the size of the bolt for replacement? I think i need to order

For the saddle mount, I got Titanium M5 (25mm long) Wanyfa bolts from AliExpress.

Had the same problem yesterday. Then went for more cabon paste and torque (without torque wrench)...

After an easy build up I did 3 rides. 160km and 3000m climbing combined. Happy with the bike but not the best I ever owned. Doesn’t feel lively and playful.
It’s a size 56 in raw carbon glossy. 360/110 handlebar.
Mounted parts lying around.
Elite 50D Wheels with GP 5000 32C and TPU tubes.
SRAM RED XPLR 13 speed.
Garbaruk oval 48t on RED power crank with Look pedals. SRAM bottom bracket.
Old SRAM Force brakes and levers.
AliExpress carbon saddle.
Weight with pedals 7,1kg.

I experienced no seatpost slipping even without carbon paste. Also no problems with tightening the saddle like other people mentioned here.
But I had to secure the screw from the down tube compartment with strong loctite.

Of course it doesn’t, the geometry and wheelbase aren’t designed to be “lively and playful” .

If thats what you want, then youve built the wrong frame.

I have to disagree with you. Compare to my Specialized Crux that is longer and slacker it’s not that fun to ride. And I had the same wheels/ tires on it.

Interesting - but what could it be, since I am still waiting for shipment I‘m just a keyboard warrior :) but looking forward to compare it to my road bike since bb height, wheelbase, chain stay length is similar or like you said shorter/steeper/lower than a crux 🧐

Any idea what the reason is since I guess the frame size is the same?

If I had to take a guess it would be cutting open the down-tube to make a storage compartment, the stiffness around the BB area is directly impacted by it (I remember seeing -10 or -15% in stiffness in one of the threads here). I've only ridden a 2017 Giant TCR before and I can immediately feel the difference while climbing out of saddle.

You can't compare a TCR to the LCR018-D. Its not a like for like comparison.
Ive ridden my LCR018-D over 2000km now and it has been superb - smooth and faultless, the perfect everyday training bike, out in any weather.
I still think its great fun to ride, its light and fairly responsive - but its an endurance geo frame, so its never going to feel like a TCR or an SL6/7/8 (ive had a TCR and an SL6 in the past for comparison).

Just to note - as a bike thats out in all weather, I gave it a ceramic coating last week (CarPro SiC Quartz) and it has really opened my eyes to ceramic coatings.
First off, the bike looks bonkers good (glass like shine and smooth to touch), but the real benefit is the cleanliness. The application was as easy as a polish - simply rub one, wait and buff.
After being out on wet mucky roads yesterday, I came home and there was a layer of muck on the underside of the down tube.
Instead of the usual scrubbing match to get it off, I ran my finger along it and watched everything fall straight off - it was fantastically satisfying!
The SiC is available in very small bottles (10ml for £14.95), and I was able to coat the bike frame 3 times and still have some left over - can't be bad to that value.

I want a super light aero bike that can climb, and im pinning hopes on Peters new aero frame coming out soon, but the LCR018-D will be my everyday workhorse - a job it is performing beyond my expectations.

I’ve been ceramic coating frames for a few years now. I agree, it makes a decent difference, and well worth doing.

Even the decent automotive hybrid ceramic sprays are worth using as an easy alternative.

As for how a bike feels/handles. There are a ton of reasons bikes feel different.
Geometry is a big factor but small changes to body posture and positioning make a difference too. I don’t yet have my 18-D but I do have 12 other bike right now. Some bikes I have in two different sizes and the difference between the two is wild, even though the angles are the same and the contact points are in the same place.
