Lightcarbon: LCR018-D (endurance all-road)

Finished the build, had my first ride today!

Great ride feel. Very soft feel, especially with those 35C tires. But the frame, maybe the special seat-post takes meaningful amount of road vibration and bumps. On the other hand, it feels also stiff when putting in a little power.
Even though I reused my 105 DI2 it has the New Bike Feel. Very agile with that short handlebar (80mm). Handlebar is a little to narrow in the end, If I could, I would probably go wider (38cm -> 40cm), as my previous HB had all flare, but this has none. Anyways, that's more Aero, right?! 

For building up, my key learnings:

• Make sure that you have the right BB and the right tool for the BB, as I already wrote before I made mistake here. Also there seems to be a couple of different diameters, numbers of notches etc. for T47 BB tools.
• Fork cutting - I would say this is the most risky situation, as you need to cut with an angle AND - according to the one page manual from LC - "make sure there is a gap of 4-5mm between the top of the stem and the expander plug". Even the usual tools on Alix are only useful for cutting 90º - I build a contraption with miter box + angle to get it into the right direction but used a jigsay in the end anyways. The cut is not particular bad, but not beautiful either - If more experienced builders can share their process here, that will probably be helpful You probably have to cut 90º - I didn't read the "manual" very carefully. Check next post.
• Besides cabling the nasty brake hoses through handlebar + frame there were no other major obstacles.
• No sounds from the frame, even putting in 1kW, no squeaks etc. - BUT only the rattling of the rear brake hose in the frame when moving vertically with the bike - As some of you mentioned: having a liner may help here. I tried tape, but ofc the hose will move inside the frame when you turn the handlebar and the tape will cut loose

8,448 gr ! I Will have similar setup I hoped It would have been lighter, my target was 7,5 not achievable, as long as drastic change on the feoupset, tyres ect.

Someone with the out front mount mind measuring it's length out front of the bars? Trying to figure if it will fit the larger form factor bike computers like a garmin 1050 or 1040.

YMMV but at Eurobike they explicitely told me that the space is so that larger devices such as Garmin 1050 can be mounted.

According to LC, mine will be shipped in about a month, so I expect to have it delivered in late November. As I already have everything ready to build it (except the 40C tire conundrum, maybe I'll need a different smaller rear tire, although I have options at home), I hope to have it ready to ride in early December... :fingerscrossed:

For those of you that are going for a 1x transmission on this frameset like me, what do you plan to do regarding the pre-installed front derailleur hanger/mount:

1. Simply remove it and just tape the 2 remaining holes;
2. Remove it and use some kind of cover to hide the holes (something like the one Specialized has for the SL7 frame comes to mind, picture bellow, but it may be frame specific, idk);
3. Use it to install a chainguide/chaincatcher;

1. Simply remove it and just tape the 2 remaining holes;
2. Remove it and use some kind of cover to hide the holes (something like the one Specialized has for the SL7 frame comes to mind, picture bellow, but it may be frame specific, idk);
3. Use it to install a chainguide/chaincatcher;

I’m planning install a chainguide just to make sure the chains don't fall off.
It would also be nice to hear other people's 1x setups!?

• WHEELTOP EDS GeX Wireless Shifter/Derailleur, with 76mm cage for 46T
• SRAM Rival XPLR XG-1351 10-46 cassette
• SRAM Rival chain
• AliExpress crank with 40 or 42T aero single chainring (not yet decided which size)

Delighted to say my LCR018-D has arrived this morning in N.Ireland.
Delivery was via UPS due to DPD saying they would not deliver to this region (very strange, but no point arguing) - got hit for £40 of import fees which wasn't too bad.

Approx 13 days delivery from when Carol emailed me to say it had been dispatched.
Box looks to be in good condition, a quick peek in and everything has been foam wrapped very well and I cannot wait to get time later to see how the lacquered raw carbon finish looks.

It'll be a couple of weeks before I get the build done at least, but I hope to document everything as I go and will provide updates to anyone who may be interested.
This will be a pure road build with Ultegra 8170 and 45mm deep wheel set with 30mm GP5000s.

I’ve asked Wendy if it’s possible to ditch it completely - she answered that they won’t drill the holes etc.
No need for a chain guide. I’m not using one on my enduro and that bike gets beaten in Finale Ligure

I considered ordering my frame without it too but I don't know what the future holds. Right now I'll mount it with 1x13 transmission, but...


Meanwhile I remembered that I already have a cover! I also own a Scott Foil RC MY23 and the bike came with some extra bits and pieces, among them was a cover for that exact function!



Not sure if it's compatible, but I'll check it out...
