Mondince new 2026 Aero Gravel

Getting seriously tempted by now. Trying to find something make me not pull the trigger  :'D
Watched some reviews of the Mondraker Arid. Heard now several times that people a) hit the chain stays with their shoes, and b) touch the wind-eye thingy with their calves.
Anyone here experienced the same issues?

I've also noticed a bit of heel rub on the chainstays, but having read about it before building the bike up, I preemptively added some helicopter tape to the contact points. I haven't noticed any rub on the "wind-eye" part of the frame.

To add some data points, I wear ~EU43/US10 shoes and am running Sram XPLR E1 cranks with SPL-SL pedals on a side medium frame. I shifted the cleats a little farther back on the shoe, and also slightly tweaked the angle to reduce the distance my heel pivots towards the chainstay, and both of these helped.

can anyone confirm what's the max clearance on the 395mm fork? can it clear a 2.2 tyre?

I'd say the fork has ~60mm clearance. So a 2.2" (56mm) tire could technically work, depending on your risk tolerance and type of conditions you're riding in. The rear has more like 56-57mm clearance.

It's got standard mounts on the seat stays and behind the bottom bracket. However the front fork doesn't have mounts.

My fork has three mounts:
- Below the crown
- One smaller bolt on each side, below the three cargo bolts

btw: who claimed to love the seat post mount?
My bolt fell down the seat tube and it looks like it is stuck between frame and BB.
I am cursing this construct right now

Mines the same. I'm used to a front mud guard mount being at the bottom rear of the fork rather than part way up the side of the leg.

I bit the bullet as well. Ordered XL matte light pink from SPcycle today with Valentine day’s coupons + Tagoola 50mm XRLP wheelset + Elita one no setback seatpost + KEOS 46t aero chainring.

Tires TBD, crankset will be wide version of either Red or Force E1 (depending if I want to play over double for 100g less and more bling), 105 di2 groupsetand Favero MX pedals. Will try zrace xg4 brakes instead of 105s. From weightweenies forum the RD does support 45t cassette so will try to use it with XT 10-45. Will report how it goes, but thats probably few month away.

Note - frame requires minimum 12cm insertion, hence previously considered L was not an option unless with 450mm seatpost.

I almost dropped the frame clamp into the seat tube as well at one point.

That post clamp is pretty common on aero bikes. I lost one of my systemsix and almost ordered a new one

Biggest change seems to be new geometry, head tube steeper at around 71.5 depending on frame size. As well different, magnetic storage box cover.

Reach and stack seems to be significantly shorter as well.

I can’t find any photos of it in size XS. Does anyone have pictures of an XS frame or complete bike?
I’m 160 cm tall — would size XS be the right choice? If anyone here rides it in XS, how does it feel (comfortable vs aggressive)?

What frame is the design template?
The FM326 basically a Mondraker Arid but my first attempts to find a match for the FM336  have been unsuccessful.
I tried cube NuRoad and Propain Terrel CF, ..

Oh nice!! They came back to a more classic Geo.

I was looking at the fm316 but that Geo was too weird for me to pull the trigger.

This new one seems perfect! I am happy to have waited and not buy a yoelo Altera or a Tideace gv201.

The Fm336 could tick all the case.

Any more info about it?

Teflon tape and grease work really well with the T47 bottom bracket. Removes unnecessary play from the thread.
