Just got mine built up (size small). Some things about me:

  • I am 171cm / 172cm on a good day.
  • The bike I came from was a 49 Allez Sprint. It was one size too small to make it work; I had the saddle all the way back on the rails and used a 130mm stem.
  • The Allez was a great bike, very twitchy and quick handling, great for getting your balls kicked in racing masters crits here in SoCal.

Some quick(pro) thoughts about the bike after doing a 1-hour Z2 ride, on a particularly windy day:

  • The handling is much more stable in the crosswind.
  • No toe overlap.
  • Steering is more predictable. I can lean into corners and not have to worry about making micro-adjustments from over-steering.
  • Ride quality was very smooth. I don't think this can be accounted for by tire pressure, but here's what I'm riding for context:
    • I'm pretty light (63 kg) so I run my tire pressure @ ~50 PSI on 30mm GP5000s.
    • This is the exact setup swapped from my previous bike.
I wasn't able to give it some beans on a sprint, but on the few overpasses that I had to ride up, it was very responsive. This weekend i'll be doing a longer ride with actual climbing, so I'll have more to report as I take it up some mountains and down some descents.

Any chance you might be able to post a picture not using Imgur. The powers that be in the UK have banned us Brits seeing/using Imgur, but would love to see your build. Thank you!

I've been following the discussion with great interest.
I saw the GC Performance review a while ago and immediately fell in love with this frame (too bad I'd just received a Spcycle R088)!
You can also customize the color, and on their website there are various custom colorways to choose from/get inspiration from.
I was really struck by this paint job, which I find very attractive on an aerodynamic frame with the lines of the ER:One.

I just got my custom ER One with a "Quick" logo. The finishing on the frame is spectacular. It looks way more aero in person than in pictures or videos. Doing a build soon.

Where did you order? And how much was it, if I may ask.

The Test Ride
I took it out for a proper test on a big group ride: 130km (80 miles) with 2,398m (7,800 ft) of climbing. The parcours was mountainous but also had a lot of flat sections. It was a memorial ride, but a good chunk of the local race community was there, so there were plenty of egos. This gave me a good chance to pull some turns and test the bike on the ascents and descents.

My Context & Comparison
For reference, I'm 171cm (5'7") tall and 63kg (139 lbs).

My previous bike was a Specialized Allez Sprint (Size 49), which I always felt was just a little too small for me. I'm getting back into riding and racing after a 10+ year break and recovering from some running injuries, so I'm not as fast as I used to be. My handling comparisons are all coming from that Allez Sprint lens.

How It Handled

Climbing:
The bike climbs really well. I took it up Deer Creek, which is a brutally steep climb @ 11.5% for 3.6kms (2.25 miles). Grinding out a gear while seated was a more (relatively) enjoyable experience. Compared to other aggressive bikes (like my Allez), things can get very twitchy on steep climbs at low speed. The QuickPro, however, was stable. I could pick the best line across the road without worrying about the front wheel flopping over and putting me out of the apex of the turn.

This stability was even more noticeable on a longer, faster climb like Latigo Canyon. (This is a ~14km / 9.1-mile climb in the Santa Monica Mountains, averaging ~5%). By this point, I was 90km into the ride, it was getting hot, and I was just holding my Zone 2 (around 200 watts). The bike's handling allowed me to just relax, stare at the road ahead, and take up the whole lane to find the best line. It's a much different experience from my old bike, where I felt I had to actively fight to keep it from flopping off my chosen line while also trying to focus on power.

Descending:
After Deer Creek, you're rewarded with the descent down Yerba Buena, which is fast with lots of fun chicanes and minimal braking.

I'm still getting used to the bike, but I was really able to push it into corners. As a test, I'd scrub a little speed from a rider in front of me before a turn, and I was consistently able to carry more speed through and out of the corner to get right back on their wheel. My confidence on this bike grew with every turn. I'm excited to take this bike down more descents in the future.

On the Flats
I haven't really put the bike through its paces yet in a hard, flat-out effort. But frankly, I'm not too concerned with how it performs on a flat parcours with a bunch of SoCal crit ogres, because that's pretty close to what the bike was designed to do.

Ride Feel
Compared to my Allez (aluminum), the ride feel is more or less what you would expect from a carbon super bike: it's more smooth and plush.

However, there is one characteristic that is noticeable from any other bike I've ridden, and it's the most striking feature of the bike: the Fork. When going downhill, I noticed the wind on my legs felt different. The inside of my legs didn't feel wind, as opposed to the outside of my legs, which was a strange sensation. Unsure if that makes you faster or slower, but it's noticeable at speed.

Final Conclusion
  • How does it climb? It climbs exceptionally well. It's very stable and not twitchy, even on steep climbs, which lets you focus on your line instead of fighting the bike.
  • How does it descend? I was able to push it into corners and carry more speed than I expected.
  • Is it the lightest? I have no idea. I don't weigh my bikes.
  • Would I race this bike? Yeah, it's not shit.
  • Is it worth the money? Compared to what's out there from Western brands, I think it's a no-brainer. Against other Eastern brands, perhaps there are better bikes per dollar (or euro or w/e), but it's a strong contender.
  • Would I recommend this bike to other people? Yes.

Thought I’d add to this conversation just to pass on information that there supposedly is plans for Quick Pro to be adding an XXL size option around December. There wasn’t specification however to which models specifically this would be added but was asking about the ER/AR:One at the time.

Which is wonderful news to anyone like myself that has concerns that the largest current size is potentially a bit small. Being 198cm with a 204cm wingspan makes it very hard to find frames made in larger sizes from eastern brands/OEMs.

Nice. I am at the upper range regarding fitment of the XL frame. So let’s see how stack and reach will be developed.

Just ordered an ER:ONE, since I don't think that prices will get any better soon :D

Was in contact with support to get some information, if there a maybe even better discounts soon. Support said just the regular 10% Discount for the er:one is available, but that they "have some free gifts like water bottle and carbon cage" for Black Friday sales. The Discount Coupon Code is not available anymore through the website, just contact support (which is support active and friendly) and you'll receive a code.

I am hyped for the bike.

Thanks for the report. I'm looking at ordering one, it wasn't available when I built my bike up in Spring so went with T1550 Gen 2, I do really like it but wanted the ER ONE at the time.

I'm 169cm and have the Medium Windspace, looking on geometry geeks the medium is a closer match.
How did you end up with the S and what stem length do you have then? I like a pretty aggressive position for crit and roadbike TT. Have a 140mm stem on the windspace.
Do you wish it was a medium at all or is the size correct?

My current fit on the ER:ONE is actually close to the fit that I was running on my 49 Allez, minus a couple of spacers and a different stem. So the size is roughly correct for me. Right now I am running a 120mm stem and fewer spacers (because of the higher stack). I could probably ride a Medium and run a shorter stem, but I'm actually really happy with the size and fit of the Small.
