The problem I see it that they do not put any effort into sure the whole package (brand name, logo, paint design) looks good. I mean they do not even have name for the model :D It just removed value from the product.

The model name actually already exists: LCR-020... there’s no real need to come up with fanciful names; in fact, I think an alphanumeric code is better than some of the ridiculous names you see around (even among some small Western brands).

After all, just look at top Western brands like Colnago or Cervélo... V5rs, Y1rs, R5, S5, etc.

However, I do agree with you regarding the need for greater attention to logo design and the quality of the paintwork.  ;)

your argument applies to all the chinese frames here then. almost all the higher end chinese quality frames cost in the 1000$ +/- range. the cheap stuff is lottery grade. and the resell value is 0 for all of them.
so why bother for chinese frames at all? i dont get this enraged discussion every 3 weeks.

Because at 800$ the value proposition is not the same than at 1100. Also charging me 300$ for paint and no sticker, when I have a pretty good idea of your paint labor cost, it’s a bit rich.

I agree but at least they should have some product lines, like V5RS and Y1RS, so people know which line in for what purpose. Personally like what XMCS did with the VRT and GRT is good enough for me. But if you do not even have a product line, then it seems like you are not confident in you product, which makes it even worse to "force" customers to their paintjob.

True, a product line or classification system for their frames would help potential buyers navigate their choices while simultaneously projecting a better—or rather, more structured—company image.

What I don't quite understand, though, is why they haven't yet advertised the new LCR020-D and LCG072-D frames on their website.

As for custom paint jobs, that is certainly a value-add (and it makes sense for them to charge for the service); however, I would like to see them offer some standard color schemes (like Quick Pro does, for instance)—something which, from what I gather, they are doing or plan to do (I believe this came up earlier in the discussion).

That said, I think the area they should focus on most right now—and one that would boost the brand's value and appeal—is establishing and promoting a unique logo and font (perhaps a bit more refined and eye-catching than what they currently use), while potentially allowing for some customization regarding decal size and/or placement (Quick Pro, for example, offers the standard "Quick Pro" decal but also options for just "Quick," or "Quick Pro" with the word "Pro" in a smaller size, all while sticking to the same "official" font).

When they added the lcr018d to their actual website and not just the pdf catalogue, they got completly overrun and the shipping times went through the roof. Theyre probably just trying to manage their orders

Has anyone ordered a frame yet from them?

I send an email to Wendy and first a custom paint job was possible without any logos on the frame. All of a sudden she told me that she can now only send out frames with either their logo or my logo on the frame. On the other Hand I send an E-mail to Jim from Lightcarbon and he told me custom paint without logo is still possible.

I don´t know if any of you had the same "problem" but for me this is very confusing because I am not sure what is possible now and what not.

thanks for your help :)

Just email Jim. What email address are you using, [email protected]?

Are they taking frame orders yet?

I was told on 21 August that it would be at least another two months before the frame reached production, including the riser bar. At the time I asked about placing an order, I was told there was no need to place one yet.

Obviously, since then I've changed my mind about a million times, so I'm curious to know whether they're now accepting orders and what the current timeline looks like.

I emailed jim and also wendy. Because first jim did not answer and all of a sudden i was in contact with both. What was strange to me was, they both told me diffrent prices. (Jim told me there was. A price change on september 14th because they made the frame more expensive now)
And one offered me a custom paint job without any logos on it and the other said it is not possible to order the frame without any logos. They told me if i would order now it wohld tale about 2-3 months until they ship it out.

It is just confusing if everyone tells soemthing diffrent thats why i am asking if anyone placed an order yet and had the same „struggles“

I placed an order one or two months ago. No issues with communications. I ordered frame in glossy UD carbon with the LC-logo in a different color of my choice and riser bar. No extra cost for my paint choice, however if I wanted another frame paint than UD, I belive it wouldve been +300 usd. It was also offered without logo.

i placed my (size 54 & HBR17 handlenbar) LCR020 order in july. been told about 10 days ago, that shipment is still estimated to be end of 2026.
i already bought a couple of frames from LC, so i trust them and they keep me posted.

the LC pricing - logo / no logo back & forth scheme - they run since a couple of weeks is another topic. i don't understand why they started complicating things this much
