I'm interested in this frame. The main concern is that the front end is fixed and doesn't allow for adjustments: you often can't even choose the stem length. If you accidentally fall and need to change the handlebars, you'll have to replace the entire assembly, including the fork, which will undoubtedly be a huge expense.

So what? Then you just buy a different bike 🤷🏻‍♂️
There are plenty of other manufacturers 😉

I like the design and hope the frame will be released soon and is affordable 👍

Anyone have any English language reviews of the V8e? There are a ton of BiliBili videos but my Chinese is only good enough to catch about 50% of what they are saying.

Duno if you could see this post on Xiaohongshu, rednote, first Vook v8e broken frame damage for no crashing, only crossed the speed bump.
Xiaohongshu page is already deleted.

Like you say, the xiaohongshu post is deleted and the tieba responses are mixed. Many people are calling BS that the frame would crack going over the speed bump.
Here is what AI is telling me about the likelihood of that

"Based on the visual evidence in image_45abe1.jpg and the mechanical properties of carbon fiber, the rider's claim is highly suspicious and likely unreasonable.

The original post in the screenshot translates roughly to the rider claiming they hit a downhill speed bump at under 20 km/h, which supposedly caused the frame to crack in three places. However, looking closely at the damage tells a different story:

Visible Surface Abrasion: Right at the site of the crack on the seat stay, there are distinct white scuff marks and deep scratches in the clear coat and carbon.

Direction of Force: A vertical impact from a speed bump would generate compressive or buckling forces. While a severe enough vertical impact could theoretically crack a frame (usually at high-stress junctions like the head tube or bottom bracket, or cause rim/tire damage first), it would not cause lateral surface abrasion on the side of a seat stay.

Carbon Fiber Properties: High-performance carbon road bikes are engineered to be exceptionally strong and stiff against vertical and longitudinal forces. However, carbon tubes have relatively thin walls that are highly vulnerable to blunt lateral impacts or crushing forces.

The prominent scuffing directly over the fracture strongly suggests that this specific damage was caused by a direct lateral impact—such as a crash, sliding out on the road, dropping the bike against a hard edge, or getting sideswiped—rather than simply rolling over a speed bump."

Very reasonable, I will follow this case, normally they would find out the truth after all.

How could one proceed with importing a Vook V8 to Europe? The price is much cheaper than elsewhere.

If you're wondering if Taobao ships to the US, yes and no. For some smaller parts sometimes they do handle it and there's not much more operations needed on your end. For a package as big as a frame Taobao certainly don't offer official overseas shipping. From my personal experience, the best way to buy something from Taobao is use a third party shipper. You will let Taobao merchants ship to their logistic centers(usually somewhere in Guangdong) and then they will get it to your door at a reasonable price.

I'm personally not a big fan of this brand. One or two years ago in their earlier stages, some of their stock wheels would detension themselves not long after assembly out of the box. You could see a number of these cases on Chinese internet. Don't know if their design or quality control have improved since then.

Feel sorry for oversea buyers, I am a export trader here so yes, you could get a agent or forwarder in Guangzhou or Yiwu, they would give you a reasonable price because they have many resources to deliver to your country, but for the bike companies, I think they could handle the shipping as well, they have the experience to deal with oversea shipping, the only matter is the price.

Do you have the contact of an agent?

I do, but he said bike package is very expensive, its better you google those shipping company focusing on China to your country logistic, that they have cheap quote.
You could tell forwarder the package size and weight, they will calculate the volume, not only the weight, so if you are not in hurry you could ask them long shipping but with low cost, or fast shipping with high price, if you could handle custom duty, you could ask them to quote DAP, if not DDP.
Also better make a list of the Chinese products you are buying, let the agent collect for you to send together to save cost.
