Re: Velobuild AERO GRAV Frame So I had a chance to put some tires into the frame and see whatll fit. Sadly to say, my 2.2s cleared the chain stays and sesttube just fine, but it rubbed on both chain stays. That may be from the fact the rim isn't fully true but even without the minor variation in it, I wouldn't recommend to anyone. The 50 cleared the front with around 6mm on either side so 2.2 would be fine up front.

I will say that 2.2 race King looked damn good in the frame, if you shave the side knobs off it may work but kinda seems like a waste when you could get a proper 2.1, just watch the side knob height.

Here's an album of photos I've taken so far. No calipers still so no solid numbers but the Allen key in the photos are all 6mm wide. Rear tire is a 45 terra trail and a 50mm

Re: Carbon gravel frame for 29x2,2 or 29x2,4 tires Until a Chiner company manufactures a gravel frame more like the Salsa Cutthroat, and fits 55mm/2.3 tires I will continue to use my Spcycle SP-M05 as my bikepacking work horse.   It is so easy to reconfigure between flat bars, or "H" bars or to put on a 100mm travel front fork, I run a dropper post, and I can readily install racks and other gear mounting features.  (Plus, its baseline weight is close to a Kg less than my 6 year old Seraph framed gravel bike - choice of tires and wheels dependent.)

I've posted the attached pic in other threads.  This is how this bike spends a lot of its time these days.

Edit:  I am also an advocate of a frame geometry that can run a 100mm travel suspension fork.   That really puts the frame back into a 29er hardtail category, but I never liked it when I tried a short travel gravel suspension fork on my gravel bike, all it did was add weight versus the suspension I expected.
OTOH, running 2.0 to 2.2 tires on this rig, and loaded for camping, I have yet to wish I was running the front suspension fork on a long trip.  The bigger tires are so much more comfortable on long rough descents versus the 42s I run on my gravel bike. On long descents, I descend so much faster than my gravel bike friends.
