Thanks for the answer ! Spoke holes in the rim bed are easier for maintenance and spoke replacement that’s all. 10% 🤔 honestly that’s a hard one aa 18/18 is road wheel hub. Personally Inwould ask peter from XM CarbonSpeed myself. 24mm inner for me would be ideal with maybe a 30mm but it’s persanle preference. What frame do you have my SL8 is ok for I believe 32c tyres. I have checked with Canyon, max clearance on my bike is actually 32mm. I wouldn’t rely solely on advice from others when it comes to tire clearance—it’s best to measure directly. Grab a tape measure or, ideally, a set of vernier calipers and check the actual space between your fork blades and seat stays. For reference, my SL8 has a manufacturer-stated max clearance of 32mm. I’m running 28mm tires on 25mm internal width rims, and they measure 31.7mm with calipers. Even then, I can just fit a 5mm Allen key between the tire and the frame at both the fork and seat stays. Based on that, I wouldn’t go wider than 30mm on this setup. I’ll measure the clearance on my 24mm internal width rims with 28mm tires (which usually come out to around 30.7mm) sometime this week. But based on the numbers, I expect around 6mm of clearance. Bottom line: measure your own frame’s clearances before committing. Manufacturer specs are conservative, but they’re there for a reason—especially if you ride in wet or muddy conditions. Plus a set of Verniers are a good investment and don't cost much to buy, cheaper than buying a set of wheels that don't fit! July 02, 2025, 04:36:59 AM |

Forgot to test out one more thing: I forgot I had a 48T Alugear narrow wide 1 by chainring in my parts bin so I thought I'd put it on and see if it works with the 12-Speed Shimano quick link and yup! It's perfect. Saves 60g over the XMCS chainring too. So just confirming that the XMCS narrow wide 1 by chainrings use a generic narrow wide tooth design which will not work with Shimano 12-Speed quick links (will not work with ZTTO 12-Speed chain quick links either, but not tested it with KMC or YBN quick links). I actually like the frame decals a lot. Reminds me of X-LAB. I guess I'm becoming one of those fake wannabe pro, coffee shop riders who like logos all over my frames and wheels LoL I'm trying to find the time to create logos close to the brand I like but with the nicknames of my kids and family (Sophuu in the style of Shimano and so on) to replicate the decal style of my CAAD5 Saeco... Love the style... As for the geometry I'm so glad it's the way it is, that's like almost the max my body can tolerate right now... But I can get really low and aero on that thing, so in total I'll be faster on this than on my team machine... Branding/decals are important for potential customers who are apprehensive of Far East products. I am in constant communication with basically every single race organization here in Chicago. From the amateurs, masters, to the elites who race in Europe. You see won't any of these see folks racing their bikes with Chinese consumables unless they have already seen these products being used within the peloton beforehand. Or from influencers like myself who actually race too. Somebody has to be the first in order to validate the performance. Or at least confirm said products aren't a death trap. Sure Winspace, Tavelo, QuickPro, and No.6 Wheels are subjectively expensive to forum members here. But they are proven products at the competitive level. No one ever asks me about my unbranded frames or wheels. Why would they? But they sure as heck ask me about my bike when there is a humongous holographic "POLYGON" decal along the downtube. That being said...there should be great care into developing the decals. No generic fonts and no "Ch-english" naming conventions either. "XMCS" is awesome -- "REVENGER" is not. It is worth consulting with a native English speaker, ideally someone with a background in brand consulting or ad copy or at least some sort of comms/editorial capacity to establish or verify at least that the language use is sensible and projects the intended vibe/ethos. REVENGER really puts me off what I find to be an attractive bike, whereas XMCS, especially with the growing praise and commendation for Xiamen Carbon Speed, is cool. Revenger isn't a word; "Venge" works in part because it is using just a sort of internal morpheme or syllable of "Avenger" or "Revenge." What's more, "Revenger" comes off as a rip of "Venge," not an homage, whereas the frame itself is original and interesting in its own right. September 13, 2025, 11:18:59 AM |
