Even with 26 IW, the 32c tyre should fit the frame, even if coming out at around 35,5mm. Even if the bike has 35mm tyre clearance. 32c tyre will be a bit lower as 35c, so would come more to wider parts of the fork & chainstays. And 35mm clearance with Canyon still means at least 4mm space on every side to the frame when having 35mm tyre mounted.

He also said that 24 would likely not fit.
I read lots of different thread saying 35c fit on Endurace on that years (2019 to 2021).
According to chat gpt, the 24IW with my tyre would measure 33 to 34mm mounted.

I wouldn’t rely solely on advice from others when it comes to tire clearance—it’s best to measure directly. Grab a tape measure or, ideally, a set of vernier calipers and check the actual space between your fork blades and seat stays.

For reference, my SL8 has a manufacturer-stated max clearance of 32mm. I’m running 28mm tires on 25mm internal width rims, and they measure 31.7mm with calipers. Even then, I can just fit a 5mm Allen key between the tire and the frame at both the fork and seat stays. Based on that, I wouldn’t go wider than 30mm on this setup.

I’ll measure the clearance on my 24mm internal width rims with 28mm tires (which usually come out to around 30.7mm) sometime this week. But based on the numbers, I expect around 6mm of clearance.

Bottom line: measure your own frame’s clearances before committing. Manufacturer specs are conservative, but they’re there for a reason—especially if you ride in wet or muddy conditions.

Plus a set of Verniers are a good investment and don't cost much to buy, cheaper than buying a set of wheels that don't fit!

hi Sander, is a 26 internal channel with 28/30 tires risky in your opinion on the X68? is it too much at the limit? I have to decide that I am looking to buy a 50mm carbonspeed 24/26. I have the frame in my hand, but not the wheels. only you can give me a concrete answer.

My 28mm tyres measure 31.7mm on a 25mm internal width (ID) rim, and 30.7mm on a 24mm ID rim. Based on that trend, I’d expect them to come out around 32.7mm on a 26mm ID rim, which should still be fine.

That said, tyre width can vary quite a bit between brands—some labelled 28mm might actually measure closer to 29mm or more. Personally, I wouldn’t risk going any bigger than 30mm measured unless another forum member has successfully run 32s on a 26mm ID rim with similar frame clearance.

For reference, my 28s on 25mm ID rims (measuring 31.7mm) leave about 5–6mm clearance on the fork. I used hex key to measure this gap by the way

thanks glepore for your feedback. what is the biggest advantage that the 26 channel has? I would be curious to try them. even if I am sure that I will not go beyond 30mm. I come from a use of campagnolo hyperon with 22mm tubulars wheels for rim brakes. I start pedaling again after 10 years of nothing.

The 26 internal is really just to allow the wider tires to have an optimally rounded profile. Really, 30's and 32's. Anything say 23-26, and 26 is pushing it. Peter didn't have his 24mm internal width rims when I ordered mine, which would have been slightly lighter and fine with 30-32's as well.

Hey guys, just a quick one — this is the 16-spoke front hub from XM Carbon Speed, coming in at 90.5 grams.

Peter mentioned there’s still some testing to be done, but it could be available by the end of the month. I didn’t ask directly, but if anyone’s looking at wheel builds, you might be able to pre-order the hub.

Compared to the 18-spoke version, which weighs around 91–92 grams, the hub itself only saves about 0.5 to 1 gram.
But since you’d be running two fewer spokes, you could save an additional 4 to 6 grams, depending on spoke type.

So overall, you’re looking at around a 5 to 7 gram saving on the wheels — not huge, but every bit helps.

Also, for those still waiting on hidden nipples: as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I spoke to Peter about this. Stren currently holds the patent for the system used in Scope wheels. XM Carbon is working on developing their own hidden nipple system, but at the moment, there’s no set timeline for when it’ll be ready. Just something to be aware of — it is in progress.
