Re: allstarobm.com legit or fake? They openly sell counterfeit items. That's enough for me to steer clear of them.
Check out the 29er section to find clones of Epic evo.

Re: LightCarbon 918?
I got a new rear triangle last week and we installed it. Even visually, it looks significantly better than before when compared side by side.
Now it’s not crooked and the spacers look even. Check the attachments.

I went on one ride and everything went well. I’ll report back on how it behaves in the future.

I also upgraded brakes from XT to XTR and got a new headset from EasyBikeParts (the one where the cables are fixed in place). Video attached.
I hope the cable durability will be better now, since the stock integrated headset had been damaging them.

Also went with longer stem on the handlebar (70>80mm), we cut steerer all the way now.
Only paid for the handlebar, obv. The painting and delivery took some time, but at least they are fast with response to my concerns or requests.

OMG that headset is amazing.  I have been contemplating buying a whole new bike because I HATE the headset situation.  this looks like a perfect option.  thank you so much for posting this.

Re: LightCarbon 918? Hi.
My LCFS918 done over 2000km so far (1400km bike packing trip month ago). I am a bit heavy - about 92kG, fully loaded bike was about 35-38kG. So far all is fine but just for curiosity I am going to check rear triangle/link bearings and report.
Frame is OK, bike rides lively and light, there is good control when going over rough sections of trail, done also some easy enduro trails and all is OK.

Re: XMCS - 2026 VRT I still think Peter's biggest issue is price, it could be the best bike in the world but it won't hold the resale or word of mouth of a winspace, quick pro,  Tavelo or the like while costing roughly the same.i say this as someone with full confidence in Xmcs and love my rs01

Re: 2026/27 full-suspension XC mutliple factors: complexity, small market, low demand, xc not popular in china, etc...

Re: 2026/27 full-suspension XC There is also nothing new in the XC full suspension market.  Even the big brands have basically coalesced around very similar designs. You are seeing very small tweaks to bikes like the epic and what ever trek is calling it now because their customer base will just buy a new one to keep up with pro racers.  The customers buying Chinese frames really only move when something new comes out.  Add that to the small market size and there is no real reason to make new frames.  In the road bike market, it is huge and lots of customers buy new frames to get the latest and greatest frames even if they are just getting small tweak and changed to the geometry.

Re: 2026/27 full-suspension XC The next major change will probably be to 32" wheels unless they're banned and they are unlikely to work well for shorter riders.

I've been considering building up a xc full sus but buying a frame from China makes no sense when I could pick up a BMC fourstroke 3 complete bike brand new for £2k. The market in the UK for non powered mountain bikes is basically dead.
