I received my order today on 12/26 here in Hawaii, just five days after it was shipped from Chris. The tracking number provided was EMS, but UPS ended up delivering it. I had to pay $79.00 of import duty to the UPS delivery driver, which I did from my phone online and he was able to verify from his handheld UPS device.

The package arrived safely without any damage. So far, so good. I have another bike on the bench at the moment, but next week I’ll get into the build. I plan on including weights and measurements of all parts. I’ll share my build log and riding impressions.

Chris has been exemplary to work with. Tell him Mr. Enos sent you.

If you could update, I would appreciate it! I’m really interested in getting one of these, but like you, I’m worried about tariffs.

Where in the US are you? I’m on Long Island.

I'm in Hawaii.

Can anyone confirm that this T47/86 DUB Inboard BB will fit this frame? I believe it will (inboard as opposed to outboard due to the wider 86.5mm frame width stated on VB's website... but I still want to be certain).

Where are you shipping to? I'm US based and would love an idea of people's experience with importing and if they were hit with tariffs/duties/taxes to get the package released.

I’m in the USA. I am very anxious about what the duty fee might be for this frame from Velobuild… During AliExpress’ 11/11 sale, I ordered a crankset from Magene’s official store that specifically said “no additional duty”, but then DHL charged me $54 for a $213 crankset. Magene’s official store stopped responding to me the moment I sent them the screenshot from the sales page. Magene is a big store so I don’t believe that it was a “surprise”. I hope Velobuild doesn’t show up with a bill that’s 25% of it’s value…

I ended up ordering one from Chris, paying on 11/29/2025. I'll post here when it ships, arrives, and report on how it builds and rides, including weights, modifications, and other details. Hopefully that all helps others on the fence decide if this VB-TT-023 is worth their investment or not.

Thanks for sharing those photos of your race! How did the bike handle that course? Any standout pluses or minuses, or neutral?

@sanopit Nice livery! Remind me of F1 meets hydrojets. What’s the total weight of your setup?

Please don't be offended, but I really don't feel like taking everything apart again. The weight should be about right, though.

Sorry, I meant your bike without the wheelset. I didn’t mean to suggest you’d strip your bike back to the bare frame.

Disregard if it’s a hassle. Cheers!

Difficult decision between this and the VB-TT-023. The VB has more in-depth ride reviews, specifically stating it is stable in fast descents. It also has more options for customized cockpits, due to the stem design (e.g. a Winow 37cm base bar with their new aerobars) compared to the ICAN's basebar which is only available in 42cm.  I like the monoriser of this ICAN TT017, I really love their wheelsets, and I like the deeper section fork that conceals the front brake caliper.

Both are similarly priced, even after custom painting, both can take the Winow aerobars with minimal mods.

Both appear to within ~200g of each other when fully built up.

Both have good customer service, at least initially.

For me, it comes down to actual ride reviews, and the VB has more of those, yet I keep coming back to this TT017.... but I need to buy one soon to prep it for Feb '26 race start.

Deep down I know I might end up buying both frames, but the question is which one to buy first?

If you meant me, I can't tell ya. Because I am still building it up, and have never installled the original one. But I just from my feeling, the alu spacers could be a bit lighter than the original one.

I can tell you the final weight not before 16.12., because first fitting, then finish building up. That the problem with Shimano Di2 🤷🏼‍♂️

What’s the weight of your frame? I don’t trust the website’s listed weights.

Thank you for posting your designs and your bike’s other modifications.

I am curious, what was your bike’s weight before and after the Winow cockpit? I am talking to Chris about a very similar setup.

11
50/60, 24mm IW, 5mm spokes, 16 hole front, 18 hole rear.

Beautiful bike, may I ask what the outer width is? 16/18 looks better to me. He quoted me 24/24.

Painting is done. Shipment is on its way. Fast processing and clear and fast communication. Untill now, no single remarks...

How many days did they quote you for delivery?

Where are you shipping to? I just got a quote from them for $229 to US and they said 'included customs tax". Hoping that really would cover everything and I wouldn't be hit with more once it gets here.

Still have to decided which frame I want to go with. I think I've narrowed it down to the Ican TT017 and VeloBuild TT023. These two just look the best, despite the Winow119 having the best cockpit. I think I can live with a slightly inferior cockpit (and upgrade in the future) to get the better looking stem interface and a monoriser.

I’m in the same boat, trying to decide between these two. I have it narrowed down to weight being the deciding factor, now that I have seen that the FastTT/Winow style bars can be adapted to either.

Finding frame weights is difficult, though.

@mattgolt I read that you didn’t weigh your frameset before building, but would you mind sharing the weight of your bike now that it’s fully built up?

Thank you, that is very helpful. May I ask, what is your inseam, and what is your bike’s weight as shown (with or without wheelset)?

Aloha everyone, long time lurker first time poster.

I read through this thread and am curious about the following:

Weight:
What weight are you all seeing with your finished builds? I watched Klein’s video and he came out very light for a TT bike. I would love to hit 8.0-8.4kg AUW.

2) Cockpit mod comparison
I am considering either this bike or the ICAN TT-017. I would use either Profile Design ASC Pros or FastTT extensions on either bike, so I’m not too concerned about working around the stock setups (twin riser and monoriser, respectively). Buying a Vision cockpit for this VB sounds like a sensible move, albeit a pricey one, compared to sawing off the janky pole joints on the TT-017. Thoughts?

3) Handling
For anyone who may have built or ridden both, would you please share your thoughts on handling? Or for those who are riding your VB-23s, could you comment how it rides compared to other TT/Tri bikes you have ridden in the past? Chiner or otherwise.

4) Setup
My intended courses are all mostly flat, 10mi and 25mi races. I currently run a 2022 Giant Trinity, 1x 60T 11-32, rim brake on GP5000 25c (max width for the frame). Like others here, I plan on building either the VB-23 or TT-017 as SRAM AXS on 30mm or even 32mm tires and 60/80 wheels.

The UDH of the ICAN is appealing to me on paper, because I could run 1x 13 speed, 10-46. I know that there’s deadband in there, but again, I’m only on flat courses for 20-50 minutes.

Any comments on why you chose your particular gearing setups and how they perform for you on your respective courses?

Mahalo (thanks)
