I actually shortened my handlebars right away because the reach was quite long—I'm a rather small guy, weighing 64 kg.
So, that 64 kg shouldn't be an issue.

Which bolts did you tighten first?
The reason I ask is that my top cap sits 3 mm recessed relative to my stem.

It only creaks when I hold the handlebars near the shifters—especially when I stand up to accelerate after a corner.
When I'm in my TT position, there's absolutely no creaking, even when going over speed bumps.
So, the issue must be in the stem or the base bar.

Here I am again.
In my previous post, I mentioned the creaking stem problem.
I got a new one from Chris back then, and I thought it was solved.
However, after several rides, it is creaking again.
I doubt it is my stem and not the handlebars themselves.
I tightened my stem to 9 Nm
expander to 12 Nm
I first tightened the rear handlebar bolts to 4 Nm; those are the bolts close to the headset
and then the front ones to 4 Nm.
Everything is mounted with carbon paste; am I doing something wrong?
My cover is also recessed a few millimeters relative to the top of the stem.

I emailed Chris about this problem again; as of today, no response yet. Do you guys possibly know the solution?

I'm considering purchasing this frame.
I am 1.75m tall with an inseam of 80cm, so size M should be the right fit for me.
I intend to use it for a variety of purposes, including beach races (using 60mm tires) and gravel events.
Currently, I ride a converted MTB, and I believe a gravel-specific geometry would offer a significant performance boost.
Has anyone here ever fitted 60mm Schwalbe G-One tires on a rim with a 30/33mm internal width?
If so, how much clearance remains in the rear triangle?

A quick update with some info.
I've been riding the TT bike for a while, but after about 10 rides—or 1,000 km—my stem started making a really loud creaking noise.
It had been properly installed with carbon paste and tightened to the specified 8 Nm / 10 Nm.
After I sent Chris an email, a new stem was sent out immediately, and he confirmed that they had made the fit for the fork steerer tighter.
Upon measuring the old and new stems, I found a difference of 0.7 mm, Problem Solved 👌🏻 So, once again, excellent service from Velobuild and Chris.

After reading the topic about the new aero gravel bike, I was really happy to see that.

As a Dutchman, I am now looking for a gravel frame that can handle 57mm. That way, a 60mm beach tire will also fit.

There is no better geometry for beach races. With converted MTB frames, the stack heights are always way too high.

Now I see the price; it is absurdly high, almost 2k, and that's knowing it can only handle 1 x 46t.
I am curious when the updated version will come out that can handle a max of 52/54t.
Sometimes speeds of 65 km/h are reached for kilometers on beach races, so 46t is way too small.

Hopefully, I will still be surprised.

That makes a difference; I use the TT bike for time trials rather than long-distance rides, so a BTA system is out of the question.
I got some really nice adapter pieces from AeroCoach so it fits perfectly against the spacers.
If you're interested, I can always show you some photos.
The distance works fine for me. I'm quite small and slight-built myself.

How do you find the reach from your handlebars to your brake levers? I actually shortened mine by 3cm, and it's much better.

Finally, I was able to properly test the bike outdoors during a long ride.
Using a borrowed disc rear wheel from a friend.
I am also still looking for a rear wheel.

During the outdoor ride, I tested the bike quite well with a short interval block of 10 minutes at 325 watts at 64kg with an average speed of 49.5 km/h.
The bike is truly amazing; I look forward to future time trials.

All in all, the bike is 10/10.

My next bike frame will definitely be a Velobuild again.

My carbon stem gave way at such tightening torques.
I received the Alloy stem from Chris super fast within a few days, and with carbon paste it is tightened to 4nm.
At 2nm, it was already impossible to get any movement out of it at full force, so the fit is perfect.
