Finally I got my frameset last week. I'm in the building process, and as a novice, I have two questions to the experts in this forum:

1.- The space between the frame and the base of the handlebar spacers is about 1 mm. Is this OK?

2.- When I put the rear thru-axle with the UDH hanger loose, the thru-axle can be screwed by hand, but when I tighten the UDH mount, the thru-axle can't be screwed by hand. I think that there is a misalignment somewhere. Anyone has experienced this? Is a frame defect or the culprit is the UDH hanger. Any ideas to solve this?

Apart from this, everything was OK.

Has somebody any experience about hiding an Apple airtag or similar inside the frame of the bike, in case it is stolen? Any recommendations?

if your in the UK hambini sells reasonably priced headset bearings (£11 each) thats what i used, he is just reselling some japanese made ones but since his reputation is based on high quality i dont think he would sell them if they were shit

Looks good, but I'm in Spain and with the Brexit now we have to deal with customs :(

You can use whatever compression bung you like. I just don’t like the ones with a tall top cap. I prefer the specialized one as it’s very low profile.

This one? https://www.specialized.com/es/es/carbon-steerer-tube-plug/p/156699?color=233350-156699&searchText=06214-2010

I have a few Cervelos from the past few years, so they’re really the direct comparison. But I also build bikes for people so I have experience with a lot of the main brands.
It’s a well built and finished frame set. The overall fit and finish is very high regardless of price. Sure, there are a few bits I’ll change immediately like the compression bung and headset bearings, but that’s to be expected. I’d do that on pretty much any frame.
I did that on the cervelos too.

Please, can you share what compression bung and headset bearings will you use? I'm waiting for my frame and I'm in the process to buy all that I will need to build the bike.

Thanks for the heads-up on the BC11 cage.  I changed my order to the older BC205 style.

I have asked LC about the issue and Wendy replied that they have modified the BC11 design to hold the bottle harder. He provided the attached photo.

A general question for the experts. I always carry a spare derailleur hanger in my bike. I'm new to the UDH standard and I have read that these derailleurs are more robust and instead of bending, they can make a backwards rotation when hit. The questions is: do you carry a UDH spare with your LCR018-D? If affirmative, any recommendations?

Thanks

Is the OEM T47 BB 12 or 16 notch? Need to buy a tool.

I asked LC about the CEMA BB and they said me: "If you buy the High-end CEMA BB, A 16T wrench with a diameter of 49 or a 16T49/50 socket will work". I think that you can ask them about the another BB.

Finally you have convinced me and I have just ordered the frame with downtube storage. Thanks for your responses!

A last question to the people from EU that has bought the frame (I live in Spain). LC says that in the shipping costs are included all taxes (they call it Duty Free shipping). It is true or do you have payed some additional fees?

Thank you!

Hello everyone.

I'm planning to order a frame and I'm unsure about the internal storage. I have seen in previous posts that the frame is obviously less stiff, but... Do you appreciate something when riding the bike? I will use the bike to race in some triathlons (short distance) so I'm in doubt about purchasing the frame with or without internal storage. Any recommendations?

I looked everywhere for replacement axels, but could not find any the same. They have a different thread pitch from front to rear which, I thought, was odd. Anyway, the axels provided seem good quality and lightweight so I am happy not to keep them.

It's true that is not a part that need replacement, but... what happens if you destroy or lost it? Need to ask LC for a replacement... I think that it will be better it the axles where a standard part.

Hello everyone,

A question for the happy LCR018-D owners. I have seen in the LC website that the thruaxles remains "flushed" with the frame surface. Are the thruaxles a proprietary design of LC or it is possible to use a standard thruaxle in the frame?

Thanks in advance.

Hello everybody, a simple question. Is the BB offered for LightCarbon good or are better alternatives. I don't like something exotic like ceramic bearings, only a BB that works without problems. Thanks!

Hello everyone. Any thoughts about the LightCarbon 3D printed saddle (SD02) and bottle cages (BC11).

Thanks
