Yoeleo h9, only drawback it’s expensive

I have the Seemee200 one model down from yours. The light it creates is great, love that it lights up the ground around you, definitely makes you very visible. The battery on my model is not very good, but yours is quite a bit bigger than mine so hopefully that means the battery is bigger too.

I have bought a whole bunch of stuff this 11.11 including a set of Go-Zone wheels! 45mm deep 30mm wide and 1250g supposedly, hopefully these will bring my bike down to around 7kg!

Link to the wheels please - sounds amazing

Maintenance, Mechanics, & Tools / Re: Please start using Mywhoosh?
« on: October 12, 2024, 05:55:31 AM »
An issue with my whoosh is that it requires recent hardware which I don’t have and don’t plan to get just for the sake of a free app.

I can run zwift on my old ass iPad without any issues, and that’s fine.

Having said that, I actually don’t use either anymore. I’m back to TrainerRoad plus Netflix and it’s the best app I’ve tried so far for performance gains.

Any other recommendations? I’d like to size down from my way-too-big 42s.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: VeloBuild VB-R-268 frame

I like the line of thoughts Serge - thank you.
I agree vb is not a fake, what I wanted to say was the heavily inspired geo and tube shapes that are close to a direct copy except the painting and minor details. Now looking at the 268, I spotted a couple of further differences vs the original… I like it

Is this a knock-of frame? Wondering as I wouldn’t want to go with that anymore (168 being the sl7 as a comparison)

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Magene l508 vs garmin radars

I have the Varia and it’s excellent. I literally never experienced any false positives.
The only issue I have with it is the battery life, it goes above 7h but that’s it.
For ultra distances the IGSport sounds great in terms of battery life. Unfortunately it’s not a worthy replacement of the garmin since it only increases the blink rate for 1 second when cars pass by. Duh. That’s one of the key features to be seen by cars. It’s as if they didn’t grasp the problem they’re trying to solve, maybe because they just focused on copying instead of solving cycling issues. Rant off :).
In conclusion, I’ll probably rather buy a second Varia for ultradistances or a normal light than an imperfect copy.

Re Bibs, I’ve tried all kinds of Aliexpress stuff (the ones recommended in this thread).
To be honest, they’re all quite shite compared to my Pearl Izumi Pro bibs I got for USD 110.
Shite as in not even close in terms of riding comfort. Independent of the saddle, I can ride my bike much longer indoors and outdoors with the bibs mentioned above. And they’re not even top of the range, while the Ali ones certainly were.

I’d even go as far as saying Chinese bibs don’t make sense for athletes who invest a lot of time into training etc. The difference is night and day. Not necessarily in production quality, they may be close to on par with each other in some cases. But big time in terms of comfort, we’re talking a different level. So from my experience, I’d directly go with one pair of good bibs and be done.
It would be significantly cheaper.
I went down the more expensive road. First cheap skate, then buying the real thing.

I bought the 168 2 years ago and it’s impeccable. I bought the GF002 and it too is impeccable.
I abuse my 168 on the indoor trainer and outdoors. I abused the Gf002 on a an bikepacking trip…

I believe that their quality assurance improved over time, sometimes there may be sloppiness and customer service in these cases seems mind boggling from a western perspective, I agree.

I also tend more to aluminum. Any brands or frame models to recommend? They don’t seem popular on alibaba

Hi all

I’m looking for the cheapest options of gravel frames including shipping below 400-500 USD.
It can be alloy, can be heavy, but it needs to be of good quality (safety).

Any ideas? To be clear, I mean the lowest pricing segment, ideally significantly below velobuild and co.

Cheers and ride on

Is there any risk in running non-SRAM batteries?

Any references for chain catchers? Preparing for my 2-by Sram red AXS gravel build...

There's the carbon fiber one for very cheap, light af, but it's attaching the chain guide and front derailleur with only one screw - not sure whether that's really an issue

Wherease there's the heavier and slightly more expensive product below, uses 2 different screws for the chain guide and the FD:

Or this one which is still light...

I'll run 30/46 chainrings so another question is whether this would even be effective with such small chainring.

I have not used Uno stem on internal routing frame (GF002) but I can imagine its going to be a pretty ill fit. For one, the spacers are kinda rectangular shaped to accommodate for the cables to go thru them. Are you trying to not route cables through the stem but still hide them somehow? Look at FSA SMR ACR stem and Kocevlo spacers underneath to almost fully conceal the cables.

Yes that's what I was aiming for. And there's one more complication: I want to keep the flexibility of adding stem-mounted aerobars (FALCON MINI CLIP-ON (Stem Mounted)) for ultra distances.

Your proposed FSA SMR sounds great indeed!
Do you have experience with it? Would you expect that the FSA SMR stem+cable channel could be clamped with the aerobars (max 5nm)?
Looks like the cable channel is also made from alloy and is screwed into the stem, so it looks stable at least...EDIT: just called FSA and they confirmed that the cable channel's made from plastic.. so not really an option for clamping an aero bar on it unfortunately.

The visually sub-par Uno stem combo would work for sure with the stem-mounted aerobars, routing the cables below/around the aerobar clamps.
But yes I guess it will look a bit ugly, the Kocevelo spacers would be at least 6mm wider than the Uno stem... and I'd need to drill 2 holes into the top spacer to let the cables in.
I found some ppl at WW who run a "normal stem" like the Uno and route the cables internally into the frame afterwards. Looks surpisingly ok I think: https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=170873&sid=56ca16bdbbd72e2dc28b62bdfa46eb98&start=15

I'm a bit torn between the options now.
Considering the low price point of the Uno stem, I might also just give it a try. Curious to hear what you think  :)
