Will be interested to hear how this goes Jensen - im on the v2, it hasn't budged since I put some medium loctite on there, but would rather upgrade to v3 to get things perfect. to save shipping I thought id wait to I purchase the LCR020, but funds are low so it'll be a bit of a wait!   :P

LC sent me the v3 for free. I paid nothing.

personal preference re: looks.  the HBR14 is the older "look" for sure. not sure how many of the newer riser bars you've seen but handlebars are going through a bit of an evolution right now.

the HBR17 is lighter, using some of the fancier M40 carbon fiber and titanium stem bolts, while still being plenty stiff.  and in terms of fit, has a slight rise and slightly greater flare in the drops.  so yeah, i think i would've still picked the HBR17 over the HBR14 given a choice
FIAT was also going trough an evolution when they made the fiat multipla.
HBR17 90*380= 305gr
HBR 14 90*380=340gr
Very happily taking those 35gr for the better looks (personal preference).

i guess no one would take the HBR14 voluntarily ;D
I must have a major mismatch with every biker I talk to about this frame (not owning a HBR17). But maybe you're right

My Ortlieb trough axle for the ortlieb quick rack did not fit for example.
I dont get why they dont just go for a more standard approach. Changing would be so easy.

And maybe someone could help with a 3d print. I am lacking the technical finesse to figure out how to make the correct measurements, but I know there are people out there to help :). If I have an update on that, I will provide you with the files for the print.
What exactly are you looking for? Maybe i can help (if possible).

LC have been great, I've already received the v2 door and a new seatpost from them, so don't want to push it, I'm more than happy to wait. Let me know how it goes with the install - never riveted anything before so always good to try something new!

Finally finished my LCR018 in black and silver tones.

Components:
•   Frame in size 54 raw carbon glossy finish with inframe storage
•   HBR17 handlebar (400 * 100 mm)
•   Serenade wheels, Model TAR50WS (25 mm inner 31 outer), 50 mm deep, SR278C Hubs
•   30 mm Michelin MICHELIN Pro 5 with TPU tubes
•   105 di2 groupset, 11-34 T 12 speed cassette, direct mount for rear derailleur
•   Basic Gineyea BB
•   Magene TEO with 170 mm carbon crank arm and Passquest 50-34 T
•   160 mm VXM rotor in front, 140 mm in the back
•   Cheap bottle holder (that I might change because it hinders the opening mechanism of the storage door), cheap bar tape and cheap rear lamp all from aliexpress
•   Ryet 3D saddle
•   Onirii carbon pedals

Build was quite straight forward nothing too complicated. I did use foam sleeve tubes for the brake hose.
8.5 kg as pictured (with pedals, wahoo and all my repair kit in the frame).

I did a small test ride. There is a small rattle sound but I feel it comes from the inner storage, I need to investigate. No seatpost or saddle slippage (I did put anti slip carbon grease though). My only complaints is the saddle bolts that are so difficult to tighten and the gap between the frame and the first spacer. That glossy finish is also quite fragile I already have some scratches due to chain drops or small shocks when building the bike. Finally I might redo the bleeding on my Shimano brakes because I feel the feeling can be improved.

I might change for a lighter cassette and also the saddle but other than that it is pretty much spot on.

For those who hear rattling from the inner storage area, check the pull tab on the storage bag zipper. It makes a surprisingly loud sound when it hits carbon.

I agree that it is a highly likely source.
Mine now routed thru pull loop and pressed down

I imagine that a conical spacer in the right size can help fit the ortlieb axle. But I have no idea how to measure it out which dimensions it should have. If you have experience in that, this would super cool.

See... i am not the only one. I just wrapped some brake hose anti rattling foam around it.

So measuring the Cone of the axle as first step.
That should be easy, because its size should be written somewere. Or i just measure it.
I dont know how the Ortlieb axle looks like. Can you show a picture?

That would be awesome if you could help a brother out here. The Ortlieb Axle is a smart product, because it has a ton of spacers with it, so I can vary the length perfectly and with the right conicle spacer, it would also fit perfectly. https://at.ortlieb.com/products/thru-axle-m6-connector

frame, painting, quality, accesories: 1+

first LCR018 i built up, i needed to face the brake mounts. this time the mounts were faced perfectly by LC.

fingers crossed, i hope she likes it

Any tips on how to install the pre-filled SRAM STI/brake combo (Shift- | Brake Lever, Disc Brake Flat Mount)? Unscrew on the STI side, but that is not enough. Does it have to be cut?

JensenMacD

For those curious about the v1 vs v3 door. I have attached a picture below of the different covers, the metal plate and a close up of the new lock.

To install the new door, it took me (my dad) more time to find the rivet gun than to do the job. No instructions provided but very straight forward. Remove old cover and downtube bag, drill out old rivets, pull old plate out, line up new plate with rivets loose in the holes, squeeze rivet gun x2 and finally install the new cover. Quick tips, put a paper towel in the downtube to catch any metal shavings from the old rivets. I also put some tape underneath with the adhesive facing up to help catch the metal. Not a bad idea to tape around the opening to not scuff anything with the tools.

A quick 25km ride today and the door had no rattling nor any other issues. Longer ride tomorrow but I I expect this door to work without issue now the lock position is at the bottom.

Can i ask a question as i just ordered mine LCR018-D.
Does BB come preinstalled in frame?
Cause it's basically only part i can't install myself.
