Thanks for the help. To clarify after taking a closer look (attached another picture from the rear/right bolt):

The play/movement: To be more precise, the metal threaded inserts are solid and fixed—they don't move inside the frame. The 'play' I'm experiencing is actually the caliper tilting because the mounting surface isn't flat.

The right/rear mount: As seen in the photo, the caliper is not resting on paint at the rear mounting point. It seems to be bare material.

The threads: The threads themselves appear to be perfectly straight.

The left/front mount: That ragged paint edge might have been out of the box or caused by the caliper tilting while trying to align it.

In your situation, and having an LBS that I trust completely, I'd take it to them and get their opinion on whether or not facing the mounts will solve the problem, or whether mounts are simply installed incorrectly.

When I buy a frame, I'm prepared to have brake mounting surfaces, headset bearing cups, and bottom bracket shells cleaned up by my LBS. It's nice when I don't have to, but I don't take it for granted that these will be perfect. I'm prepared to pay for that eventuality.

If the mounts aren't installed properly and therefore the calipers can't be installed and centered normally, that's a manufacturing defect and a different story. If that was the case, and a professional mechanic can't sort it, then I'd be asking LC to replace the frame.

I must have skipped over the part you have quoted at the end of your reply. I'll take everything back and agree with your approach

Agreed. If LC thinks it's carbon damage, or may be, they need to replace the frame. If they think the shipping company damaged the frame, that's between LC and the shipping company.

Hello everyone, Iam happy to report I finally received my frameset size 58 (130x400mm handlebar setup).
...
With 130mm stem this bike is setup pretty much absolutely identical as my bikefit on my aeroad, so pretty happy with that.
Head tube is exactly same depth as aeroad one and from front lightcarbon does not look much bulkier than aeroad.
So in summary pretty happy so far and everything looks pretty good. LightCarbon setup looks to my eye like much agresive setup compare to aeroad, but that is just illusion with much more sloping top tube, I think it looks pretty amazing and I really like it.
Sorry for bad photos, I will take some better ones after build is complete.
Please, when you finish your build tell us how the LCR018-D frame compares with the aeroad.

In my opinion they should paint another fork for you, ship it at their cost, and let you use and keep the first fork so you don't have to wait to use the frame. If it was me, I'd propose the solution to them and not wait for them to propose one. I believe it's always in my interest to formulate an expectation and communicate it clearly.

I sent Wendy an email this morning outlining things and proposing this solution. Will update on outcome.

I'm playing around with paint. The black would be raw carbon with clear lacquer. Logos would have to be under the clear lacquer or no logos.

Finally an update, painting is finished and ready for shipment.
I had to change from the 400/100mm handlebar to 380/90mm, due to the ordered one is out of stock and would take another 2 weeks to make.

Also added the 15mm SB seat post for 50USD to my order, just to be a bit more flexible with the position and adjustment.
Here some screenshots from a video which Wendy send me.

Does the blue paint run down the back of the seat tube and between the chainstays behind the bottom bracket?

I like the idea, although considered the opposite. I had considered getting the Ferrari red on the outside and carbon on the inner parts less seen for weight.

My 58 size bike is assembled.  I was worried that maybe frame will be small. I am 192cm tall and my inseam is 90cm. Seat post is not even half way up so this size should also fit taller riders than me.

Can't wait for a nice dry day to test it out.

It's only in between the rear triangle were the wheel sits, you can see some pictures here:

I like the look, except the red decals, maybe. It's something about red letters on black frames that looks messy, some how. Maybe black letters in the red part on the top tube?

BenR, just shout out if you would like me to stop using your picture as an example..

I started building my build for real, everything looks good and goes pretty smoothly. Only thing that I really don't like is the serrated spacer for saddle clamp bolt, I thing everything serrated against carbon is not good idea, maybe for the fist time your torque that bolt it is holding good but everything your need adjust saddle angle I think it would be pain.
As I have access to CNC machine I went and made my own smooth spacers and I think it works much better, with serrated once when I tighten them to just snug 3nm I was still able to move saddle with my hand, with those smooth one when I tighten them to 3nm saddle is rock solid.

Did you guys who is using bike have any problem with saddle angle slipping and did you use carbon paste between carbon and aluminium surfaces of seatpost?

I sent this to LightCarbon as my suggestion to improvement so maybe they will alter their design.

Otherwise so far bike looks pretty awesome.

Could you share that design?
I might just have that made by JLCPCB or another chinese manufacturer.

Should get my frame today  :)

Ahah don't worry 😁.

Unfortunately, I have to sell my bike (sales & classified topic) because of wrong size

Nice work .

You could also use a Shimano cleat washer.
