I don't have my frame yet, but I'll take one. It sounds like I might need one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

^^Nah.. It's nothing you need, per say.. The one you receive with your axle will work just fine - this is just a bit more of a polished solution.

I like the aesthetics. Matches the other two silver circular shapes on the derailleur below it. Anodized colors would be frkn sweet but obviously that's a bit much for the home hobby machinist. Nice craftsmanship, outriding - Tight tolerances, and fast shipping.. Thx!

I'll take one. Mine never felt secure to me for some reason.. I like the idea of being able to utilize the set screw.
The nut on my 256 also never felt secure. 9 of 10 the nut is loose after a ride. Now I made it more secure by taking an old inner tube, cut a circle with diameter of 2 cm, made an incision in the middle and put the nut in. And then I put the nut on his place. Now it's secure enough and the last three rides it didn't came loose.

It's not a beautiful solution, but it works perfect for me.

Thought I'd bump this thread up as I was recently contacted by a forum member that has lost an axle nut and needs a replacement.

It looks like they changed the thread to a nonstandard thread.

So all new axles i dont have a nut that will work.

I think you still need the set screw even with a new axle nut.

Last week I noticed that if I tighten the set screw, then remove the axle, the nut becomes loose again.  When reinstalling the axle, I needed to re-tighten the set screw.  So if you remove the back wheel often, I can see how you will have problems with the nut coming loose more often.

Resurrection of an old thread......

What did you thread these as?  M12x 1.75?

Would you be able to make some in M12 x 1.5 to fit the DT Swiss axle?  I ordered the one that was supposed to have a nut, but did not get a nut, Vendor is supposedly shipping another axle, but I'll see how that arrives.

Need some solution, axle came lose during a race last week...
