Bad news, gents. I just received my eR9 from the choice purchase and it is NOT the new version. Definitely the old version with the magnetic charging on the rear and the old FD without USB-C charging. Oh well. It was still a great price. Now I gotta think about whether I want to keep it or deal with a return.

I got the last ERX listed on the LTWOO factory store for now. They said it is the V3, the FD has USB-C but the rear derauiler also has the magnetic charging. I asked a few times if the RD is infact V3 as well and they reassured me that it was.

I guess we shall see

I'll look again when I get home, but I did not see either the USB-C port nor the open area to adjust the FD location that Trace Velo pointed out.

Oh I was just mentioning what I am anticipating from LTWOO, they sent me pictures of the groupset so I could see the FD has USB C etc

Have it now for over a year , you can't expect to be competitive to Shimano or SRAM for this price but it's just garbage.
I can only use it in summer because when it's below 12 degrees or raining it stops working. Through the app it still works but shifter compared to derailleurs don't do anything.
When i am home , after 5 minutes inside, he works again.
No big loss for the price you pay, but i would not do it again. Just buy some mechanical Shimano instead of the price.

Been riding with this in rain and freezing weather. Just works here. Only thing I had a few times was ghost shift on FD on one of my three er9 bikes.

Have you done any of the "weather sealing hacks" to your group? Like the silicon grease or other "insulation" works that had been suggested on this thread?
Slow on the climb. And everywhere else.

It's also been almost a year running ER9 on two bikes as well (using dielectric grease and sealing the plugs with rubber cement glue). So far they've been working fine. I had a few battery related bugs, but those issues have been ironed out. My only other issue is that my FD cages are showing heavy brassing. Unlike Shimano, LTwoo doesn't provide skid plates. In comparison my Shimano FD cages look immaculate even after heavy use.

I've had that, too. But other than the surface finish wearing away where the chain rubs, is that really an issue? It's really only cosmetic, I suppose. I didn't have the impression that the chain would wear through the FD cage.

Yeah I guess it's just cosmetic. I did try seeing if I could fit a Shimano skid plate, but it doesn't fit. I heard Wheeltop EDS TX users were able to fit the skid plate onto their FD.

I just had a chat with Ltwoo Official Store. They said they were selling the new version and are sorry somehow received an old one. They said I could return or exchange and get a new version. I may go ahead and try to do that since I'm not installing this on a frame right now anyway.

More like they were hoping you wouldn't notice!  ;D

Is there any confirmed information about the rx9/erx 3rd Gen. RD?
We all know that the 1st Gen RDs died, but we do not know why.
Has LTwoo ever given the technical reasons for that or at least informed that they have solved the bugs in the new 3rd Gen?
Has LTwoo ever admitted that there was a bug in their RDs?

Apparently, even in China, Ltwoo has a bad reputation, with people complaining about reliability issues and poor customer support. I thought it was a Western thing, but no.
They sell RDs for 100$ a pop, we pay more because of platform fees & shipping, but as far as i'm concerned, the trend is your friend. If it dies less often, whether it's because of better soldering, or because someone is doing voodoo on every batch that comes out, as long as it works, i'm happy. I wouldn't expect a chinese factory to acknowledge mistakes, but as long as they improve the stuff, i'm game.
Sram released a cassette that retails for 615 eur, so at this point, out of principle, i'll buy chinese. My friend runs DA di2. if he crashes and trashes his RD, i wonder how much it will cost him.
Fast on the flat. And nowhere else.

To each his own, but I'm more interested in what Wheeltop + Rotor can come up, that has the potential to be really good and give the 2 patent spammers some problems down the line.
