I definitely got cut and some carbon fiber splinters while trying to fish some line through the bottom bracket area.
I asked the painter if he can file away the imperfections, otherwise I'll take care of it myself with a file and sandpaper.

I hadn't really looked at SPCycle, let alone the R088 frame. It really does look like the SL8 but without the obvious butt sniffer. Same geometry, BSA BB, seatpost, and fork design too.

This might actually be the way to go for consumers looking to avoid any stigma of riding a straight up clone. How much does the frame cost?

During the last AliEx spring sale it was $473 USD frame only + they had a $100 USD coupon going. Though who knows how much stuff is going to cost in the next month.  :(

$548 with bars:

Yeah ; I think it will. I bought it during the sale and paid 550 with the more expensive paint incl shipping to EU

Frame shipped!
Just one last-minute doubt: I’m torn between 105 Di2 and Ultegra Di2. The €300 difference isn’t huge, I’m just not sure if it’s really worth it.
Anyone else faced the same dilemma?
With the price gap, I could get the Magene power meter—and still have enough left for a coffee :)

edit: Bought the frame on May 26, and it shipped today April 9.

Ultegra is definitely more premium in looks and lever feel. It also has better brakes. The front derailleur is better (faster), too. It's somewhat lighter as well. I would definitely go for Ultegra if the price difference is so small and you can afford it.

Edit: oh, and Ultegra has another feature that's really cool: the extra buttons on top of the hoods. You can configure them in various ways, you can even control your head unit with them if you like.

Moreover, Ultegra has the satellite buttons.

NB : With the last update, 105 can have one button free on the left lever when one button is used for both up/down front derailleur.

Expected shipping date is the 12th of April. (Fram color: pearl white)
I just bought an EDS TX groupset 2nd hand for 200 Euros. Previous owner couldnt set it up right. This groupset will go onto the R088 frame. I only need to buy a crankset. Thinking of the Riro carbon DUB version. As it saves weight over the Sensicx crank. Probably will go 50/34 (would that be more difficult for the front derailleur compared to 39/52?)

For the handlbars I am thinking of buying the Elitaone /Roval https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005008330025199.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.3.62c3266e7l582u&algo_pvid=63fd71e9-5443-48c3-9412-0bef77ea3c76&algo_exp_id=63fd71e9-5443-48c3-9412-0bef77ea3c76-2&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22order%22%3A%2226%22%2C%22eval%22%3A%221%22%7D&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21EUR%21130.67%2159.39%21%21%211037.06%21471.35%21%40211b617b17441869763842971e152a%2112000044620831447%21sea%21DE%210%21ABX&curPageLogUid=gMixue65BlJv&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A

I'm also interested in the RIRO carbon cranks. Have you tried them before? Does anyone have any references? I'm worried they might turn out bad and cause problems.

In my case 9 days....frame ordered on March 26th and delivered on April 4th.
I got confused with the wheel order....I ordered the R088 frame on March 20, not March 26!
So 15 days passed between order and delivery, not 9!
Sorry....;D

There are currently 2 Riro carbon alloy axle cranksets. The original 24mm axle uses the 3 bolt SRAM interface and the newer 29mm axle uses Shimano direct mount. The newer 29mm has the advantage of coming in different crank arm lengths, but limited 2x chainring options (unless using adapters) and power meters, while the 24mm version only comes in 170mm crank length, but has more chainring and power meter options with the 3 bolt interface. Also the 24mm axle version officially only supports threaded BSA BBs due to axle length. Even then, depending on bearings, some threaded BBs might cause it to seize. Though I've been able to fit it on my internal T47 gravel frameset, despite not being officially supported.

I use the 24mm axle version and have no problems with it. I'm sure the 29mm is also good, so I'd just pick whichever best suits your frameset.
