It's been a while since we've done a giveaway here, so I'm excited to announce that Eddy and Haideli Bikes have volunteered to sponsor a giveaway to show appreciation for the support the company has received from this community. That means one lucky Chinertown member will be getting a free new carbon hardtail frame!

All you have to do to enter for a chance to win is meet the following three criteria:

1) Be an existing member of this site as of the date of this post and have at least 10 posts by the end of the contest.
2) Have an image uploaded to your Chinertown user profile.
3) Follow @chinertownforum on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chinertownforum/ (if you don't have an Instagram account or just don't want to follow, no problem, you can still enter)

That's it! Just post a reply in this thread containing the word "enter" and you will be entered into the drawing.

In 3 weeks time, this thread will be closed, and a winner will be chosen at random. That winner will then pay just the shipping fees to Eddy and the frame will be shipped out.

As a side note, the one thing I don't like about these giveaways is that everyone has to put their trust in me to conduct a fair contest and, as far as I can tell, there isn't really a good way to choose a winner that would allow you all to witness the drawing process. I thought there would be some type of app or something, but not that I could find... So, just for those that may be interested, all I did was list all of the valid entries in a spreadsheet and and go to Google's random number generator and input the amount of entries and took the first result. In the future, if anyone has any better ideas, I'm open. Thanks to all that participated!

Well, you are correct, anyone could just email Eddy and pretend to be the winner. I didn't put all of the steps out there just for the sake of simplicity but there are steps going on in the background via PM where mwh0169's identity has been verified by me and given to Eddy.

As for your reasoning for not entering the contest, I can certainly respect that moral stance, sir. That said, this contest, or any going forward, should not be seen as a backing of the vendor by myself or the board.

Any vendor that sponsors a contest has a reputation that is entirely separate from the event and stands alone according to how they treat customers, imo. I see it more as paid advertising where the community is the beneficiary.

Also, I'm going to split this topic off into a separate thread. My logic for this is that the winner announcement thread is a paid-for promotional thread (I'm referring to the price of the frame for the giveaway). I didn't want you to feel censored so I didn't want to delete your post so I just split it off.

Hopefully, you can respect that. If you think this is faulty logic, please do voice your thoughts as I am still learning how to fairly moderate and manage a community such as this and am certainly open to input.

Re: Airwolf YFM026 boost XL highball I try to be pretty hands-off around here and not impose too many rules & restrictions, but I think I should draw the line at using the site to try to sell products that possibly violate trademark laws. No judgment... put whatever stickers/logos you want on your bike... just can't sell it here.

The "report to moderator" button in the bottom right of each post alerts me directly to my email... that is how I found out about this thread and I try to be as responsive as possible. Unfortunately, I don't have any idea what is causing the issue you brought up or how to fix it. As FullCarbonAlchemist pointed out it may have something to do with the forum software needing to be updated and I'm working on that. I apologize for any inconvenience and am sorry I couldn't be of more help, hopefully, these issues will be remedied with the updates.
